I am really concerned that this thing could wreck havoc across much of the southern 2/3 of Alabama. With Zeta’s fast movement, tropical storm conditions will sits well inland. With the heavy rain potential and tropical storm force wind gusts, this could be a big tree/power outage issue.
Bruh it’s moving too fast. You will just have to pick up a couple of chairs in the backyard. Quit being a drama queen.

Zeta said get that weak shear out of here

Let me put it simply for you: the fast movement will allow the tropical storm force winds to extend further inland than they would with a slower moving storm, because Zeta won’t have as much time to weaken before it gets well inland. No, these winds will not last a long time, but they will be stronger than central Alabama normally gets from a minimal hurricane.

It's got to be close to a cat 2.

Jaun back in 1985 was not a strong hurricane but did some of the craziest things I have ever seen a storm do.....
I watched the storm surge come up down Lower Dularge for Juan. The storm blew through and we had clear skies the her came the water. Rose six feet in thirty minutes. And put 4 feet in FIL ‘s house. You could see the wall of water coming across the pasture and marsh.
The water stopped South of my house by a half a mile. I was on a ridge.
Juan did a bunch of loops.
We went to Lake Decade between loops and slayed the fish. It was a strange storm.

That is an impressive shot of a supposed no threat hurricane

Zeta is doing the exact opposite of what all the predictions called for in terms intensity as it approached the coast line.

Looks like an East wobble

I am hearing cat 2 at landfall but nothing I can find from the nhc says anything above a cat 1.
Is there a source of info that supports the cat2 projection?

The latest official NHC forecast calls for Cat 1 at landfall with 90mph winds. Cat 2 starts at 96mph sustained winds, so I could see it getting to Cat 2, but that’s not NHC’s forecast at this time.

On the radar the center of the eye looks East of the predicted track. Am I drunk? Bc I’ve been drinking, heavily.

Levi's said before in 1 of his videos earlier this year (Laura maybe?) that you should take the intensity projection and believe that either 1 category higher or 1 category lower is technically on the table

With the 18mph speed is this one of the fastest storms? Have there been any storms that moved faster?

The NHC explicitly called for cat 2/100 mph at 4 a.m. and backed off at 10 a.m., while leaving the room open for strengthening

The seven downvotes all but confirms exactly what my suspicions were in that there are people in this thread who are trying desperately to see exactly what the hell they want to see.
