I was only getting it for college football from August to January.

I actually cancelled early this year (last month). With the changes to college football and this, I might just be done with it for good now.

I don't get angry over $10/month. So go switch to cable and then bitch when they raise their price next year.

I'm happy with YouTube TV, and I switched 2 years ago after being with DIRECTV for damn near 18 years. I don't have the patience to switch to something else.

120 bucks every six months for two separate providers for every sports channel I can dream of and then some. I'll stick with piracy.

I agree that watching on the road is where the value is. Big deal for my fam. We probably spend a total of 6 weeks away from the house over the course of a year. Nowadays, a lot of hotels let you bypass their bullshite and just login to your own YoutubeTV or Netflix account. Can't remember the last time I stayed at an AirBnB where I didn't have that option too... Then, obviously just being able to pull it up on my iPad is a big deal too.

That being said, I'm pretty sure once I add up the basic package + the "premium" stuff I subscribe to, it's still cheaper than what I was paying DISH 5 or 6 years ago.

I subscribe during the football season but cancel after the Super Bowl. Rest of the year we use tubi, Hulu, etc.

This is the fourth price hike for people who switched when it came out.

The business strategy was pretty clear. Operate at a loss and undercut cable prices significantly for the first couple years, then raise prices to parity and hope people are too lazy to switch to something else.

I called to cancel directv and go with YouTube tv. Directv dropped my bill from $150 to $89 a month. It was a no brainer to keep Directv for me.

You are 100% correct. I have a cutoff number in mind but, didn’t think it would get so close, so quick.

I never really cut the cord. Still got cable. I am not "renting" any of their devices and my bill is comparable to others nowadays (those that dont pirate)

Also, I have kids, so it was a lot easier for them to have 1 controller, 1 interface, 1 seemless look...whatever app they wanted to watch, it streamed through comcast so no switching anything

I just cancelled it last week. I can’t stand their user interface. I find Hulu live much more intuitive. But I usually don’t have any live tv service outside of the football season.

Is it? I only watch one tv so it’s really not.

This is the only situation where cable would be the better option. The only live tv I watch is sports and TCM. The wife watches Netflix, Amazon or Britbox. We have an antenna for local if needed. Will cancel or pause YTTV in February. I have Peacock for Premier League. I'm also addicted to college football multiview on YTTV.

With optimum bundle my bill was 208 a month that was Internet, cable and HBO. I dropped to just internet and added YTTV. My internet is $60 1 gig down. YTTV is around $80.

I can cancel YTTV anytime. You're stuck with cable. I could care less about a delay. Everyone is on a delay.

Just upgrade to the 4K plan to get unlimited streaming devices and split the cost with someone. Put a passcode on your profiles.

I don’t understand why they people pay a premium to watch TV. I get what I need without it and can rent from Amazon prime if I must watch a movie. There’s more to life than TV.

I'm out. Might as well go back to DTV. Knew this was coming when they got Sunday Ticket. And unlike DTV, they don't want to give you anything.

Don't like their DVR anyway.

Long time ago, and they definitely didn’t have all those offerings at the time. And they also had ALOT of buffering compared to YouTube TV, but again this was years ago so maybe its worth trying out.

Switch to Sling.

I have every channel I’m interested in and they give 100 hours of DVR for free. The one annoying thing they did was put the ESPN channels in a package with a bunch of trash channels that nobody watches. So I’m not going to pay an extra $10 a month just for a few live games.

Junk except for a couple of football games during the season.
Go local and free streaming. If you have Amazon, get Prime.
When is the all-sports network with every game at $14.99/month?
