I work it as much as I can. I downvote and swipe away immediately if it's something I don't like. It still occasional tries to make me.watch family guy, wrestling, Futurama, American dad, Simpsons, etc but I just shut it down immediately. If it's something agregiously bad, I take the time to hit the 3 dots and say "not interested" or ban the channel from my feed.

It's annoying as frick these days. It basically only shows me two or three different types of videos, to the point where I don't go to it as much anymore. I've watched tons of different kinds of shite on YT, but now I feel like I am pigeon-holed into just a few topics, and am tired of those topics.
It's to the point where sometimes I will just search for random shite and click videos just to try to mix up the algorithm some.
I also want to talk about how absolutely shitty their new design/layout is. They enlarged the thumbnails to huge screens to the point where only like three videos per line can fit on the screen. So instead of looking at a screen on my large monitor and seeing 20-30 videos, I can only see 5-10, and the bulk of those are also the little short reel videos. I've searched on how to fix that, and came up with nothing. If anybody has any input on how/if that can be fixed, I am fricking all ears.
And the ads have become unbearable. Every third or fourth video thumbnail is an ad, then there's an entire line of ads. Then I click a video and there's an ad. Then a few minutes later in the video there are more ads. It's terrible.
ETA: Also this is beyond annoying as well:

Sometimes if I hear about something I can't even find the video, and I have to watch a video of someone talking, commenting, or guiding me through the video footage I wanted to watch. It is beyond annoying. Sometimes I just want to watch something and I don't need "content."

I like to put those 4k 8 hour nature scenes on the TV in the background when I wake up and it's put me into a tiny box where the same shitty AI crap is all I get recommended.
I don't want AI scenery.
I put in "no ads" in the search and of coursei walk back in after making my coffee and there's a 10 minute ad for bath refitters playing

Premium with no ads and music is well worth the money.
AI generated content where the narrator mispronounces common words has become annoying. Easy to recognize a minute in and skip.

I couldn't agree more. I vastly prefer it over YouTube TV to the point I paused my YouTube TV subscription until football season. My only (small) quibble is that I can't shuffle my YouTube Music playlists, or at least I have yet to figure out how. YouTube Premium is $ well-spent.
