Not much to watch on ESPN+ unless you're a fan of Ivy League Lacrosse

I didn’t realize Disney owns Hulu. No wonder they playing hard ball.

When ESPN pays billions to leagues and conferences they have to make up the cost every way they can. If youtube tv goes up in price $15 it is going directly to espn who passes it onto the NFL, NBA, SEC, etc. Then you get to pay coaches $100 million . Its just part of the ridiculous out of control sports world we live in.

DirectTV streaming service is awesome. I have all the ESPNs, SEC Network, Big 10, and ACC networks. Local channels and HBO are there as well. Pretty much any live channels you’d want are there. There’s also plenty of on-demand content and DVR cloud as well. I’ve looked into all the live stream services and, IMO, DirectTV streaming is hands down the best.

Just started a free trial with fubo. More channels than I had with YTTV and a little cheaper too. So far so good. All the sports channels I need.

Strongly leaning this way - anyone have experience with DirectTV Stream

The negative on fubo to me was no tbs and tnt, which i may be fine with, but they also didnt have espnu or espn classic, which sometimes come into play

See my post two posts above yours. I’ve had DirectTV stream for years (think it’s called D Stream now, it’s changed names like three times) and it’s got everything you’ll want.

You Tube didn’t come to agreement with ESPN & Disney & ABC
Right when bowl season is kicking off too. Holy shite, I'd be ditching those frick heads with the quickness. Bowl season is damn awesome.

it's only a matter of time before all of these cheaper alternatives turn into more $250 a month services again
Yep. That has always been the eventual outcome.
It doesn't help providers that every channel/network has their own à la carte streaming app.

Verizon customers can get slingtv orange or blue for free for the next two months or the double package for $15 a month.
That’s what I just did. I’ve had sling before so just had to create a new email to be considered a new subscriber.

So I just signed up for DirectTV Stream - I went with the 85 dollar plan.
It works just fine and doesnt restrict me where i can watch it (Such as two different homes at once) plus you have 20 streams at once.
I did a lot of research again on Fubo, Philo etc look at Hulu again and for what i needed this was best.
Will say when/if ESPN comes back to Youtube I may go back. I think the interface and options are better.
WIth that said i have a lot more channels with Direct. Such as Bally's sports, Weather channel etc. Bally was huge as a Braves fan I couldnt watch the Braves.
Not to sound Bougie but the whole reason I went with Youtube over the others is it doesnt restrict you to a HOme network. I have 2 homes mountain cabin in North Carolina and my main home in Athens GA. With you tube I had one account (cost) and could watch in either home at the same time. Direct lets you do that. All the others do not. So if you dont need that Hulu is a great option. I had no choice and pretty limited to Youtube and DIrect.
Heads up though if you have Android TV or Chromecast with Google TV there is NO APP for it. There is for Apple TV, Roku etc. So you have one of two choices (I chose 2)
1. Load it on an ipad or mobile device and cast it to your tv which is a crap option if you want to use your phone or TV remote
2. Side load it via an AVP file. Meaning you need to download on your google TV File Commander, download the AVP file (easy to find) into your google cloud or Onedrive folder. Use FIle Commander, connect to your cloud folders and install it. It gets even more nerdier as its not an APP that will appear on your homepage so you have to load a side launcher. But it works fine. just a few more clicks.. So stupid Direct does not have an APP for Google TV or Android TV. They dont because they want people to pay them for their Stream box. Which you dont need.

They lost all the Fox sports networks earlier. Sucked couldn’t watch the Braves.

What's the all-in cost of the $84.99 plan? How does the DVR service work and does it cost extra?
Edit- looks like it's an extra $10 for unlimited DVR, plus $5 for the streaming device (I have a smart TV, can I download DirectvStream app on that instead of getting the device?) plus taxes.... it's almost as much as my cable package that already has everything i want. I was literally about to cut the cord and go with YTTV and this news broke.

I'm RAPIDLY caring less and less about sports between the woke BS and pain in the arse to watch games now.
