You aren't making $220k pushing pills at Wal Mart son

you're right... that figure he stated, was the rate for 60 hours, which is how that number gets to 110K... without those extra 20 hours he ain't making 110k...

and i don't work at Walmart...

No, 1 & done in calc 2. Earned me a C+ by the skin of my teeth. Don't, take that shite over the summer, lol

I always did better in Summer school than in the Fall or Spring.. I even took an intersession class once and I rathered doing that than Fall or Spring, but I never even considered taking Calc 2, physics, etc over the Summer. That's a lot to try to consume in a short time..

No. I work for a mechanical engineering firm in Florida that specializes in government contracts (not subject to OSHA pressure systems laws)...but I work from home in MS. It's a sweet gig, just wish it paid more. I'm close to 6 figures but I've been that way for 6, 7 years. Wife makes OP money and I'm itching to get back on top. I'll even get up in the morning, shave, and go to work for it.

This was the thought process, as misguided as it ended up being

Bragging about a job I think is fools gold? Or the fact that I'm 38 and in 2 years, I'll be an entry level engineer? Which one of those was I subtly bragging about? fricking douche canoe

I keep the strangest work hours too. I'll finish work at 2:30 am, write the email to everyone with all the supporting attachments...then wake up at 6 to hit send. They're an hour ahead, so I just beat them into the office with it. They might question my sanity if I sent it when I finished.

but I would say there is a better chance of him making more than $110k/yr as an engineer than him making less than $110k.

None of the EE's that I graduated with 2 years ago made over $70k to start. Most were in the low $60k range. Me and another grad (both had ~3.1GPA) started in the low $50k's.

Unless he gets a similar type of job as he mentioned in the OP (50+ hours a week, rotating shifts, in the middle of nowhere, etc...), then he's not going to sniff 6 figures for at least 4 years, maybe closer to a decade.

the way it reads, the OP doesn't sound like you skeptical about the job... it reads more like you are looking for a little validation to help with a decision, while boasting a little...

if that's not what you were doing, i am wrong, and i apologize....

It's 60 hours a week of slinging packaged meat. The thread is about "here's 100k now, or a worthy career in 3". I wasn't considering it, but it's something to make u say hmmmm at first
