You want it? Lol
frick no. I'm asking because I have a feeling I know who it is and I have friends in the same industry and wouldn't want to work in that industry unless I owned the company.

Because you're 2.5 years away from being an engineer or quit and do option B

Nope. Get your degree If you take this job and in a few years something happens, you are now back at square one.
The square one part is deal breaker

Oh i see.
I guess it depends on the type of engineer and whether you have something lined up immediately after.
The OT 5 years ago was filled with people in petroleum engineering bragging nonstop about how much money they would be making with their super hard degree to get. Well now how is that working out for them? They went from yea we are going to be making 100k out the gate to a good bit of them not doing jack with their degree and probably making dick for a paycheck
I would be very skeptical though. I wouldnt put much faith in a company/person who is looking for someone because the last 2 people were stealing from him. Sounds like a small low rent company thats on its way out

You went back to school in your late 30s to be an engineer. Get your engineering degree
Do what you want after that, but get the piece of paper

Don't take the bait.
Sounds like you are crusing along in a difficult undergrad curriculum and well on your way to creating a solid foundation for gainful employment for the rest of your life. You're two, maybe three years out from reaching that goal.
Why would you walk away from that for something short term like this? The older you get, the more curves life will throw at you. Returning to school when this goes in the tank will never be as easy as things are right now for you.
Risk isn't worth the reward here man. We all were tempted in undergrad to walk away and take the easy route. Grinding it the frick out was the best choice I ever made.

Small is relative I guess, but definitely not the case

Neg- it's 5/12s but no weekends(60hrs-only $33/hr roughly)
I was thinking "you can always go back to school" but then I saw the 5/12s. At first, it might not be that bad, but at some point you are going to get tired of it.
Assuming you would be working 6A - 6P (does that 12hrs include an hr for lunch?) then add in the time you have to wake up, get ready, then drive to work... Then get off and drive back home. Let's say you wake up an hr before having to be at work.. So thats 5AM.. Then you get off at 6PM.. So you get home around 6:30PM-7PM
You go to bed around 9PM so that's 2-2.5 hrs you get to spend time with family or whatever. At 38.. Well you made the decision to go back to or to school later in life. Did you go back because you really want to become an engineer? If so, i'd stick to that.. What kind of engineer?
If you were young.. Early 20s.. Maybe so. You can work and save some cash and what not, but frick it. Get your engineering degree.

He's 38.
Which brings up another point. I left a career that I earned 100k because of lack of security and a life to pursue something that provided that. Signing up for this would equate to the same thing I left, but with no knowledge of this particular business. Would be silly

Suppose it's a family friend that just fired the last 2 for stealing and would give his left nut for someone to run it right. Pretty sure he's demanding though
When you say demanding. Is he "just wants to get the job done right" demanding or "even when it isn't necessary" demanding?
