My wife is not a celebrator and also a minimalist. She'd opt for no tree. I love the Christmas season. We compromise and put it up a week or two after Thanksgiving. Sometimes we get the crappy Charlie Brown tree leftovers.

Friend,

Thank you for that history. What is the criteria for Front Day again? The kids are anxiously awaiting it as my wife makes hot chocolate from scratch.

Sort of on topic - I noticed multiple homes in my subdivision having Halloween decorations up in their yards before Labor Day....I don't ever recall people putting out that stuff more than 2 months before the holiday. ...ridiculous IMO

Didn't even have a tree the last couple years, but when it was a yearly thing, a week or two past Thanksgiving and it came down a week or two after the New Year's celebration.

You put a fresh cut tree up in October and it's going to be so dried out before Christmas that almost any touch to the tree will see needles falling off like rain.

Our local Walmart has the Christmas stuff taking over the "outdoor" section.

The Christmas light installer emailed me yesterday saying he will come out to install mid October. Even though I won't light them until the last week or November, I told him hell no I am not looking at Christmas lights in October. He rescheduled to mid November.
