The best part is show up 15 minutes early to wait until 10 minutes after your appointment time to then go back
That's because someone didn't come 15 minutes early

I had a Dr’s appt for 8:30 am for Dr I had never seen before. They said to come at 8:00 am for paperwork. Show up at 8, office closed. 8:15 staff comes to unlock doors. By 9:00 am, I’m sitting in their office and still no Dr.
I made a scene, explained in detail how the Dr and his staff are unworthy people that deserve every harm that should ever fall upon them and I left.

You're apt to see the Dr is at 1045....we ask that you arrive 15 minutes early so we can update your info.
Whats the fricking problem with that? Sorry if you have to wait in the waiting room an extra 10 minutes but if the person ahead of you would have showed up early like we asked them to then we wouldnt be backed up.

I'm not talking about a doctor's office that's why I didn't respond to the OP. Those instructions are expressed to the patient when the appointment is made. I responded to the unwritten rule that some people personally choose to implement.

Not at all. I called the insurance carrier and filed the complaint. I got a letter from the legal office, I offered them no resolution. Wrote reviews, took pictures of the unkept office.
I’m not sure what else happened but the carrier was looking further into it.
I caused them some trouble like they caused me.
You can bend over if you like. Screw them.

Obviously you weren't taught promptness as a kid.
Have a downvote.

whatever medical thing you were there to address is probably still unaddressed and they probably got delicious doughnuts from a rep this morning

This is why doctors run behind. 2-3 late appointments and they are 40 minutes behind. They might make up some of that over lunch, but by 3pm they are an hour behind schedule because some inconsiderate assholes couldn't get to the appointment on time.
then stop catering to the inconsiderate a-hole.
If the guy with the 1000 appointment shows up at 1020, and the guy with the 1015 appointment shows up at 1010, and the guy with the 1030 appointment shows up at 1020, then you service the customers who showed up on time first, and tell the other dumbass to wait until you have free time to take them, or they can reschedule.
Stop fricking up the entire day b/c of one or two idiots that can't respect the doctors time, or the other patients time.
My time is valuable as well. I shouldn't be at the doctors office for an hour, only to interact with the doctor for less than 5 minutes.

You have to fill out paperwork while waiting an additional 50 minutes for your appointment, that's why.

adults usually try to be at any meeting/appointment 15 minutes early.
So we can sit and wait for 45 minutes.

I've had this happen when I was the first appointment of the day and had updated all my info in MyChart already including DL and insurance card pics.

Like a football coach once told me "1000 means you are dressed and on the field ready to go at 1000 not walking onto the field"

You can set your clock by me, I’m either early or earlier. I’m old, the only thing on me that is still flexible is my schedule..
Don’t play mind games with me, if you want me at 945 just say so. I’ll likely be early.
