boudreaux said all of them have, which probably means fixing a traffic ticket from one of his 20 cops

what other council members do you know of that requested favorable treatment?

While at the meeting he read a text message dated 3/2/23 from one of the council members requesting that he "fix" a traffic ticket for them.

I have to assume your downvote was a fat finger or you have a serial downvoted because that is exactly what BWC means.

I don't know why people conduct criminal or untoward activities by email and text, it truly baffles me. The amount of headshots I have gotten in litigation from text and email either by discovery or client provided has grown exponentially in the last 10 years. Do your dirt in person or at the very least via phone.

His downfall won’t be as a result of this incident, they are going to investigate him from his inauguration. They will dig up all the fixed tickets and charge him with malfeasance. Yes I know everyone does it but he’s the one being investigated. It’s a shame because I like the guy. He probably should have resigned to avoid a criminal probe, now he’s opened himself to a full audit.

the type of investigation they were talking about in the council meeting is probably a law firm investigating this incident and their procedures

the type of investigation you may be talking about would be another LEO organization coming in and investigating possible crimes.

the scope of a law firm investigation of this incident would have to increase beyond this incident due to evidence of some malfeasance occurring being uncovered. then it would probably be turned over to LSP or something like that. those two YPD officers turned off their BWC to talk privately for a reason

now the court of public opnion after this display by the chief is a separate issue, there was not much clapping for him after he left the podium. his behavior and comments are embarrassing to say the least

youngsville is 15k pop with lots of professionals types, it isnt the small tight knit cajun country town I grew up in any more

It seems like alot of drama over an incident that was handled poorly.
The chief should have stood back, and requested the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's office traffic division to write up the accident report.

Now it turned from a small crack in the dam, to water blowing the dam up.

Look at this shite

quote:

The son of Chief Rickey Boudreaux, Landon Boudreaux, presently serves as an Assistant to the Mayor. While the Mayor also employs the sister of councilman Reaux, Dawn Durke. Then to top it off the City of Youngsville employs and Chief Rickey Boudreaux supervises Earl Menard, the father of Reaux, and Clay Durke, the son of Dawn Durke and nephew of Reaux.

This chief seems like a guy that if he goes down, he’s bringing everyone else down with him.

Lots of dirty laundry about to get exposed.

This is the least surprising thing I’ve read in this thread

I lived in Youngsville a for about 5 years and he seemed like a decent guy. After watching both videos I can’t wait to see his downfall. Defending that woman who is insufferable will cost him his career.

Yes, and WTF was his point?

Some of yall may know him and some of yall dont. But he dont care.

Nobody really made any sense.

I know this type of thing happens. I have used it myself in the past. But what was normal process 20 years ago isnt relevant in a much different time now where we have video evidence available. The councilwoman admitted that she drank. That should have been an immediate cause for a sobriety test and she certainly should not have been shuffled off by the chief, friend or not. Plus she acted like a total a-hole to people just trying to do their job. As a “public” servant that is a bad look. Like the chief said, the council all ask for favors so I am sure this will turn into a bigger shitshow or get swept under the rug. Any change will have to come from the citizens that wont get these favors and treatment.

I was really surprised at how much he didn’t care.

When Ricky said to the reporter, You’re trash. Was it the reporter that said, “You’re trash” back?
I think that was my favorite part.

Ricky does not give a frick and that’s why nothing will happen to him. He’s also one of the most tone deaf people in Youngsville and that too will be why nothing will happen to him.

They just poor, low income so to say. Not necessarily “dangerous or crime ridden” apartments. It’s one of the safest towns to raise your children in Louisiana, but like All other cities in La, the government is corrupt and it’s all about who your daddy is and who you know.

Boudreaux defeated Reaux’s father in an election. He was also a sheriff’s deputy before he was elected Chief. He ran against her father twice, and defeated him the second time. Boudreaux and Menard were not allies.

Yet, Reaux knew who to call as soon as she screwed up. That’s small town politics at it’s peak. Certain families are within a circle of protection. It doesn’t matter if they are opponents in the eyes of the public. They protect each other behind the scenes.
Reaux had been at Boudreaux's house in the middle of the night when she hit the parked vehicle. That's why she called him.
