not necessarily. i think finding an online like-minded forum to vent is cathartic to these dudes. i dont excuse them for making misogynistic comments, but if you have NEVER had success with women, we should have sympathy for why they might feel that way

Maybe it's just a function of the general outlook of the folks around here, but I haven't had any problems. Lots of home dates, and once restaurants and bars opened up last month, it's been a piece of cake.

I doubt your average dude that cares more about video games and smoking weed with his buddies runs around calling himself an "incel".
That is what I mean by "self adopted label" not arguing over what it literally means.

I’ve had some FaceTime dates, but those got old quick. Denver just reopened their restaurants two weeks ago so things are getting back to normal. For now I think I’m just trying to get back to simple pleasures and probably after the 4th (got some friends coming up to Denver for that where I don’t want a third wheel like the last time they were up) and I’ll try to actively start dating again. I’d rather get back into my old schedule first.
Good thing is I’ve lost almost 20 pounds since quarantine started, so I’ll be doing better than ever.

Yeah, I’m right there as well. I’ve had very little success in dating apps, but rarely strike out in the wild. I think women might just be putting up ridiculous filters on dating apps because they’ll still get bites even when they’re bodies are cosplaying as beach tubes.

I think it’s cathartic, but it could also be toxic and feeding a self-sustaining cycle of negativity that prevents them from rising above their deficiencies and improving themselves. As long as you have someone else to blame, you don’t have to take responsibility or work to change your lot in life.
My struggles with women lately are largely due to my weight. I’m lazy and have put on a few pounds over the last 5 years. I’m a charmer, so I still get dates every now and then and have had multiple long term relationships, even was married for a while. I can’t change being short, but if I took better care of myself, I would have a lot more success dating. The kinds of people who post on incel forums lack the self-awareness to realize that they don’t have to be incels. They don’t have to give up. They can improve themselves, it just takes self awareness, self-discipline, humility, and work. Internet Incels are really just lazy, resorting to hate, spite, and nihilism to avoid accountability.

Decently attractive guys are willing to sleep with literally any woman on dating sites (contrary to what the OT says about not banging fatties, etc.). I can see how that would leave a lot of less attractive guys in the dust.

That's been the case for awhile now though, but I guess the dating app thing is relatively new. The gap between who a guy will have sex with and who they'd have a ltr with is often rather large
