Okay Serbia would seem like a paradise compared to jennings.

Serbian women are kinda hot. The cops killed the 8 hottest women in Jennings.

We haven’t a good ole fashioned “Louisiana is a shithole” thread in a few days that will inevitably turn into “New Orleans” is a shithole thread.

Thanks OP.

The closest thing we have to an underdeveloped country inside the borders of the United States of America.
That distinction goes to Detroit or Jackson, MS.

We are fortunate enough to live in a free country. If LA is so damn bad, why don’t all you complaining bitches leave? Move to another state.

Arkansas episodes were very good.

The Ozarks are great place to be. Especially in spring and fall.

We have watched most of the shows also and really like them. The Louisiana episode made me sad also. It could have shown the greatness of LA (Andrew Zimmern did it in his food show) but it focused on the bad.

Second, there's apparently nothing in the state west of Avery Island (Lafayette apparently does not exist) or north of Angola.

Bourdain's "No Reservations" in Louisiana was one of the best episodes of that show he did. I liked that one as much as his Beirut episode or when he went back to Vietnam. A lot of those shows were good just to watch, but a rare few made me want to be there with him. That one's up there.

Watch "Aerial America" on Smithsonian Channel (on every Saturday and Sunday morning).

I’ve seen it already and it was depressing. Most states have awe inspiring vistas, changes in topography, mountain ranges, unique geological formations, and the flyover of La. was all swamps and oil refineries.

Has your head been shoved up your arse your entire life?

Most of my prior generation lived within walking distance of the Mississippi, and 75% of the have died of CA.

Isn't Agricultural Chemical Runoff from farmers up north the main pollutant of the Mississippi?

Yes. Because of the way permitting works under the Clean Water Act, most of the plants he’s referring to actually discharge water cleaner than what they pull out of the river.

I would.

In a heartbeat.

But parents (wife's and mine) are here.

May revisit after they have passed.
