Wait until they issue an order to close restaurants/bars. It's coming....

I went to the grocery store last night around 8 and they were completely out of meat, eggs, all paper products, most fruits, bread of all kinds etc ....

I got up at 6 this morning and went back and they had everything. The key is to go early as they are stocking.

The only embarrassing thing was my wife thanked the check out guy for his service.

I could see a scenario where restaurants are pushed towards takeout, but a full closure? We would have to be damned near dead at that point.

You do realize that there's a large part of our government that would love to do this right? I'm not saying Democrats created the Coronavirus, but they sure are taking advantage of it. They look at this as their way to get Trump out of office so they are doing everything they can to collapse the economy.

Even if you don't believe that, would it really shock you? No one is thinking straight right now. Everyone is panicking and making decisions completely on emotion. And that's especially true for both the federal government and governments at the state and local level.

At this point I absolutely think martial law is coming. Maybe not from the President and Federal Government but I could easily see various state and local governments doing it. People like LaToya Cantrell are having a field day right now knowing they have complete and unchallenged control.

That kid is being exposed to every mouth breather in the metro area for 9 bucks an hour. You should not only thank him, you should tip him.

It would be absolutely ridiculous to close restaurants for a number of reasons.

Then again, one week ago, I would have told you shutting down and cancelling everything would be ridiculous.

I wouldn't doubt it but as another poster said I think they'll go to carryout and delivery only first.

All police officers on constant duty. Activation of the national guard. They don't have to have someone on every street, mostly just at the certain points, especially around interstates.

Perhaps even an exemption allowing active duty military to perform police functions.

Automatic jail time for anyone who breaks martial law. State borders shut down. They could even use drones for aerial support. The scary thing is I don't think it would be as hard as you think.

It's already happening in some places. Restaurants can do delivery only and bars are shut down.

Hence why everyone else was busy buying stupid toilet paper I was getting beer, rum, wine and hurricane mix. I figured this was coming. If I'm going to be stuck inside I'm having alcohol, lol.

Wait, the Democrats are running the country? Then why is Trump still President?
Honestly, I think some of you people failed Civics in high school!

They do run Congress last time I checked and Congress controls the purse strings. Plus they have Governors and Mayors in various areas that can help collapse their local economy. Never mind businessmen like Mike Bloomberg who have friends in high places. I don't doubt at all that some of them would be willing to temporarily lose a couple hundred million dollars or more temporarily to get Trump out of office.

A political party doesn't have to be in control of the Executive Branch to be able to crash the economy. They just have to have the right people in the right places.

Lots of local places started doing delivery this week that usually don’t even do takeout. Made sure I tipped the guy way more than I normally would since he’s likely taking a beating missing out on dining in customers.

Exactly, my wife and I drank on the front porch last night, cool crisp night with a heater going.
It was nice.

We invited a doctor friend over and she declined to adhere to social distancing, she is taking this very seriously

And that’s why you get an “F.” The Democrats control the House of Representatives, the Republicans control the Senate (often referred to as the “upper” chamber), which is why Trump was acquitted. No laws pass without the concurrence of both chambers, which is why none of the Democratic agenda is moving forward. The Senate has installed conservative-leaning judges on the lower federal courts, as well as the Supreme Court. The various departments of the Executive branch, including Health and Human Services, are being led by Trump’s hand-picked appointees. Republicans are running the country right now. Period.
