Which would immediately give you away as an outsider to people in 1919.

What would a person even wear to blend in back then for a week?

Yep. Also covered in 11/22/63. Language was different. Cursing was rare-ish. Not sure any of us could start a car. Hell, just watch a movie set in the 20's...

All natural fabrics... I'd probably cut my throat with a straight razor trying to shave and die the first day...

I can spend a week reading about 1919 now. I'd rather go to 2119 and spend the week reading about what will be. My children and grandchildren will be rich AF.

But maybe not....as fast as technology is changing, it might be tough to find anything that exists today that you could invest in to make your grandchildren rich.

All travel is done by ABCXYZ... But we are 75 years from finding something that's makes it possible...

Could be far harder than it sounds. Then again, I struggle with 3 ft putts.

1919 even though it was a scary time. The earth will be very scary in 2019. I imagine police will be extinct and every major city will have a SWB-like mayor.

1919 is too dangerous. You might accidentally alter history.

2119 I'd just collect information on stocks and find a few good parlays/major upsets to bet at the casino.

Always the future if the situation brings you back to the present.

Going back in time gives you one week with superior knowledge. Going forward gives you one week to gather superior knowledge and bring it back for a lifetime. Plus, fricking up the future doesn't matter as much as fricking up the past. Not to yourself anyway.

But I think there is risk if technology has advanced to the point your mind can’t handle it.

Think of a 1800’s person visiting now. They would almost assuredly lose their mind if dropped into our world. And we are advancing even more rapidly now.

But I get your point

And why? The visit can occur at any location on Earth.

There are positives and negatives to both choices.

1919 was a pretty shitty year across most of the world. Hunger, disease, revolt, leftover war destruction, widespread political unrest, etc., etc.

1910 would probably be a more interesting year to visit if you could.

While I think your reasoning is solid, there are variables that could make it all moot. The amount of unknowns are limitless. Think of how much has changed in the last 30 years and the pace is still accelerating.

Communication could be without words. Everyone put hands on shoulders and read each other's eyes... You would be unable. He'll, you can barely string together a sentence now, worthless fricker.
