I don’t agree.

But yes only trash gets ink withdrawals and posts about it on Facebook.

You don't spend any money purely for your own pleasure?

Pump the brakes here, cowboy. Using this definition, my fishing rods, rifles, shotguns, boots, hats, farm I duck and deer hunt on, and my guitar all make me trashy. I ain't buying it.

Very little, but I don’t want to be misunderstood. If you don’t have a little trash in you then you aren’t my friend.

I knew all that weed and alcohol in my 20s was a mistake

Well half those things can be considered investments (guns and guitars) and the others could have a materially positive effect on your life (spending time outdoors and boots to make sure you protect your feet)

For some people, tattoos have meanings that go beyond money. My neighbor, who isn't what I would call "trashy" has a tattoo of his daughter who died on the back of his shoulder.

Either way, I like tattoo sleeves. Of course it depends on what it is of and if the artist did a good job, but why do you care if someone has tattoos or not?

I'm waiting for all these people that haven't gotten really old yet.

Don't think there's much chance of that for me but if I live that long and the worst I have to worry about is how I look on the beach I think I'll be alright.

All the people arguing with the OP based on their career or income are doing no good. There are mentally ill lawyers and mentally ill millionaires.

While it’s not a significant as the OP suggests, some research has shown that those with tattoos have a higher likelihood of antisocial personality disorder or borderline personality disorder.

I'm not trying to argue with OP. On the internet, you can't prove you're not insane, you can only confirm it.

It wouldn't shock me if people with mental instability were more likely to have tattoos. It just isn't a given and people get them for their own reasons.

Anyone who starts a thread like this isn't looking for real discussion, at least it doesn't seem like it.

Good lord you are an idiot. Vacations. Hobbies . A nice vehicle. Anne expensive grill. Nice artwork in your home. A purebred pet. What material positive effect do these have?

Without even going further, you don’t think having a hobby or seeing something besides your own house every damn day has a materially positive effect on your life?

If that isn’t obvious to you then you shouldn’t be calling someone else an idiot.

Are you equating having hobbies to a fricking tattoo? You think those are in the same class?

I agree.

I would consider you extremely mentally unstable if you would not punish this.

Please explain the difference in the hobby of putting ships in a bottle and filling in a sleeve over several years in reference to material reward. I'll hang up and listen.

Not mentally unstable, great job, two incredible daughters (from same dad that I am still married too)...full sleeves. Not all tattooed people are equal. There are too many despicable people with and without tattoos. Don’t pass on the chance to befriend someone just because they chose to get indelible ink in their skin.

This is generally correct, whether anyone here wants to admit it or not. No, it isn't correct all the time, no you shouldn't judge people until you've given them a chance to prove themselves, but it still generally holds true.

You've pointed out one example, no generalization is 100% true across the population, but this one holds weight.

It's relatively normal today , though I think getting inked all over the body is probably compulsive and not healthy

The only ones I question is face, neck and knuckle tats. Just seems like terrible decision making to me
