I have 2 and i am not unstable...sure i walk a fine line but not completely unstable.
But i do know people with more tats and they are unstable or are teetering on the edge and wouldnt take much to push them over. Mostly females but a few dudes too.

A person who has counseled people for over 50 years revealed this to me. He has been amazingly accurate in his discernment of people and their actions. He could listen to a married couple's interaction with each other and tell if they were headed for divorce court.
Every person I ever met that had tats had issues Some got a tat while greatly under the influence of something when they got theirs. These people had issues which is why they were greatly under the influence. Some people get over their underlying "issues", but the tat remains. I used to think that people who went out and drank a lot did it for fun. As I grew older I discovered that everyone of the people I knew that drank too much had deep wounds. As I got to know them better they revealed their pain that lead them to excessive drinking. People who get tats are very similar, and often have gotten the tat while drunk.
Knew a girl that had very little money. she spent over $100 on a tat for her b-day. Poor decision since she could not afford it. She had major issues. No telling how many she would get if she had more cash.
A person who is happy with themselves and content with who they are do not need to make a"statement" with a tat.
Do people get them because they want attention? Think people will like them? Want to "fit" in? Feel abandoned by a parent or both parents? Feel unloved? feel alone? Got drunk and did not know what they were doing?
Why would a person get a tat at all?
My opinion based on observation is that a woman's skin color is far more sexy than any ink or art. There is no comparison. Other people may have a different opinion. This is my preference.
If a person has a tat it is probably a result of internal wounds which need to be healed. These people are not "trash". Some of them have severe wounds, and need someone they can trust to allow them to talk about their situation. They may not even know what their deepest wound is. Hopefully, time will reveal it to them so they can be healed and be happy with who they are. The tat or tats will just be a reminder to them of the time they walked with their wound(s).

A famous preacher once said that people with multiple tattoos are often spiritually dead. What say you?

Tattoos showcase how trashy you are. Ive yet to meet a person with "tats" that i consider "stable" outside a few ex-military. Even my brother has a cheesy arse tattoo that is ugly as shite. So does my cousin. So stupid.

Some of you are painting with some broad brushes.

Maybe the tat is part of who they are?

I take it you have military experience to gauge this on?

While there are likely many examples of your theory being true, my opinion is also that ink is so mainstream now that people just follow the crowd. Some of our youth feel they need it to fit in.

I'm trashy, was in the military, have tattoos, and am mentally unstable.

Honestly I have met plenty of bonkers people without tattoos, and totally sane down to earth people with tattoos.
The majority of professionals with tattoos have them in spots you will never see, so theres that.

Well this is the OT, so I guess I should expect ignorance from time to time.

Not sure about mental instability, but a lack of critical thinking and decision making skills.
I know people who are OT ballers that have tats
It doesn't carry the same stigma as it used to

Tattoos are trashy.
Period.
Normally, like a tiny dick man with a bigfoot truck.
Anytime I see someone with their children's names tattoo'd on their body....
I immediately assume they are a shitty parent. Trying to show everyone else how much they love their child.....
Compare incomes and IQ and standardized test scores --- tattoos versus not.
There might be a pattern.............

4 out of 10..... people in this country are frickING MORONS. LEGIT.
So , your graph needs a few more variables.

I would love to see the data if anyone can post it.

You underestimate by a large margin. I'd say it's 8 out of 10 easy.

Yeah, everyone is going to have an exception to the rule. "I know this guy who owns this super successful company and graduated from Harvard and he has a neck tattoo". But even though I don't know the actual numbers, I'd bet my mortgage it'd be pretty telling.
Same as with lower class birth rates being higher. Certain people don't have foresight of what their actions might mean for their future. Tattoos obviously aren't as serious as having a kid, but in the same way, those who take the time to think about it and decide to hold off because it will affect their future are probably going to be more successful types. In a high level overall statistical sort of way.

A lot of you would be much happier in life if you stopped caring what other people think about you.
