Damn! What did you end up going for instead? Staying away from Igloo for sure.. thinking RTIC based on this article..
I have 2 Igloo Sportsman coolers, a 55 QT and a 20 QT, and they're great. Especially for the price. Though I read about the insulation issues before I bought it, and tested them with a 1,000 lumen flashlight. I think that guy just got unlucky.
For the price, they're good. I've use my 55 QT for camping, and the 20 QT for work. But I also bought them used. I paid $80 for the 55 QT, and $45 for the 20 QT. I'm close to the Walmart employee store, so there's a guy who's also selling coolers in Craigslist cheap as hell, that still have the stickers and tags.
But if I was paying full price of $180, I'd pay the extra $20, and buy an RTIC. But with these high end coolers, they're well made enough, in fine with buying them used.
But with my 20 QT, if it's been prechilled, and I fill it up with Waters and a fresh bag of ice, the waters will freeze a little. I'll have chunks of ice floating in my bottle.
They're not the best rotomolded coolers. But if you find them on a deal, they're definitely worth it.

Holy shite those are stupidly expensive. If that thing doesn't come with a built in fleshlight, than it's a definite rip-off.

There is an 8 page thread spanning two years debating coolers.

Buy a regular ole timey ice chest. These new fangled, expensive ones are just TOO HEAVY. Why do you need ice for 5 days ??? The games are only on weekends and regular cooler is roomier and much lighter = more beer.

The OB buyers club offers a superior product at rock bottom prices. Maybe I shouldn’t be making more work for No Colors...

No, there's a 7 page thread spanning a year and some dumb arse who brought it back today. This isn't the first time I've seen this happen on here. Why does this happen, who the hell comments on a thread from over a year ago? And I too thought Mizzou was back...where did he go again? Did he finally lose some bet or something where he agreed not to post for 2 years or so?

For those who love them, what situations are you using them in? Multiple days far from civilization is all I can think of.
Out fishing for days. Camping for days.
Only reason I needed 1 but now own 2 (115&45). Need ice to hold for up to a week. I probably saved 75 bucks in ice this summer. 800 bucks in coolers that'll pay itself off in less than 10 years and they'll still be put to work.
Eta....damn, this thread is old
