I've got a wall of good scotch, bourbon and various other varieties of alcohol.
I've got a humidor full of cubans.
I'm about to say frick all of that and walk down to the pot shop and buy the first edibles of my life.
Each time I get that thought, I remind myself that I'm waiting to be summoned to the emergency room while our dinner is now packed in fricking Tupperware.
At least you bastards can alter your reality. I gotta stay sober through all of this.

Also, we all took edibles and they just kicked in.
this is the trashy shite I look forward to in the yearly TG thread
I feel like this is less trashy than most of the drunken episodes. More than likely they are all laughing and stuffing their faces about to take a nap

Do you though?
Biggest thing so far is Mrs Sun God fussed at me for drinking bourbon in front of her mom, which I’ve done approximately 10000 times before

We're eating charcuterie on the veranda, drinking captain and diet, and listening to Rick Astley Radio. Come at me.

Drinking 16 oz bud lights with my 40 year old brother arguing if wrestling is real or not. Good times

Who thinks it’s real, you or him?

Update:
MIL has massive bump on her head and large gash on her leg of unknown origin.
Paramedics bandaged the gash and determined that the bump was significant enough that she should be examined at the ER.
MIL refused treatment and commences arguing with the paramedics.
Paramedics leave and wife and MIL continue to argue about getting her to the hospital. MIL insists that she just needs to put on her pajamas and get some sleep, until she notices that the gash on her leg has now bled through the bandages and is leaving stains on her carpet.
Wife is smart enough to tell her there will be no sleep until you get checked out by a doctor.
MIL agrees to let wife driver her to the ER, but only after MIL is allowed to clean up blood spatter on her carpet from her fresh leg wound.
MIL is at the ER now; however, MIL is now giving wife the silent treatment because she is mad.
Wife has to sit in the parking lot waiting for MIL because we live in the People's Republic of Washington and hospitals are banned from allowing "visitors" due to COVID restrictions.
Wife will be spending the night at MIL's (apparently in silence) so the kid and I are on our own for how to handle "Tupperware Thanksgiving".
SIL (who is single, no family ... and no pics) has not responded to wife's contact attempts. BIL "hopes" to be able to come and "help" ... by Sunday.
And lastly, as to the wife, no pics. But, she's good looking; otherwise, SIL and BIL's aversion to planning, responsible behavior and success would have driven me out of here a long time ago.

My dad is the family a-hole but due to extenuating circumstances the family decided to go there today anyway. Cousin pulls up with her 3 year old and unloads his kiddie side by side from the truck. My dad mumbles under his breath about kids hitting things and is ignored. Because he is an a-hole not because he is wrong. After lunch everyone is sitting on the patio and another cousins child runs the side by side into the patio post and almost rips off the gutter downspout. My dad was not outside and we all burst into laughter because his reactions to things are so ridiculous and he turns into a red faced troll. Alas the nephew put everything back in order so dad will be none the wiser. Mom over saw the entire thing because she doesn't want to deal with his dumb arse.
***before anyone says we are rude the dad in question and the cousin who owns the child and side by side could easily pay for new gutter and downspout without missing a beat so it is not an issue of actually ruining someone's things.

Since your wife can't go in. I hope she let's them know your MIL is not quite right in the mind, showing signs of cognitive impairment/dementia.
They will do tests charge a zillion dollars and give her Ativan to take when she gets home--
If I were your wife I would lie and tell mom whatever it takes to put MIL's house on the market, remove her keys & car- & call visiting angels home care or bring her home with her.
