This is what I don't understand. If you're going to say that we aren't trending in the right direction, tell us/show us the stats that prove that. Don't be secretive about the shite. Say, on X date A was the number of cases, on Z date they are now B. Because the numbers that the state is reporting do not reflect what Roberto is telling us.

In the past 2 weeks the state has had 6k new cases, in the two weeks before that we had 16k new cases. How is that not a decrease? I don't understand, and they are shite at explaining what they are looking at. It's almost as if they are intentionally vague when they are attempting to explain how they interpret the data. Why is no one asking them specifically what data they are looking at to come to the conclusions that they are reaching?

No lie, the doctor up there pointed to Region 8 which has 12 parishes in it. Of the 12 parishes, 9 had zero new cases. In the entire region, it had a total of 19 new cases. This was an example of a "trend" that was increasing.

He did the same thing with Region 9, which had a total of 35 new cases, most in St. Tammany. And, St. Tammany has been trending down for the last 2.5 weeks.

The numbers are already so low, they would meet any reasonable definition of low enough to reopen...but because the chart shows an increase, he used it as a reason not to reopen.

This is either intentional or ignorant.

When they started showing that I had to wonder what the actual numbers were.

So we are staying shutdown because of that.

Y’all are under some weird analogy where every non liberal loves trump...

I actually posted the following on the political board and got all upvotes and zero Downvotes, before this I would have been met with pitchforks ..... The majority of people think trump has been a bitch

Trump completely lost his balls

He has always been a rambling petulant teenager, but I liked him anyway because he was willing to say and do what was right regardless of political backlash

Now, he simply is a normal politician doing only what it takes to please the masses and get re-elected. He has all of his negative attributes still, and non of his positive anymore

Honestly, you can't make a case for a single parish being shut down right now. Every parish with significant numbers has significantly dropped from its peak and has flattened for at least 2 weeks...some longer.

The biggest problem I have with Trump right now is that he is opposed to restrictionism on immigration issues. And that's evidenced by how keeps surrounding himself with and endorsing (especially when he doesn't have to) chamber of commerce hacks and putting them in prominent positions.

His current DHS secretary is a former outsourcing H1B visa lobbyist.

Louisiana is staying shut down for the federal bail out money. Just like Illinois. Same reason the New York governor keeps begging for more money from the Fed.

That is the reason. This has nothing to do with case counts or deaths or curves or anything else anymore.

The Trump outline for reopening is pretty solid. Considering LA is in the top five of C-19 cases, the decision to follow the outline makes a lot of sense. It’s a tough call in DC & BR. Open to soon with a resurgent number of cases & both take the heat. Open later with no issue, then they could have opened sooner. Neither can win. Just glad both have what it takes to make a decision & live with it.

Do the guidelines say that you need to keep your state shut down if 0.17% of your state has the virus?

Seriously asking.

And they are going to get no bailout money and more pain out of playing that stupid cynical game.

Trump and Mitch McConnell are completely opposed to bail out money and they will not allow it no matter how much Nancy Pelosi pushes for it. They've already made comments expressing clear opposition.

Louisiana, New York, Illinois, they all made their beds with how irresponsibly they managed their money and the will all have to lie in it.

Another thing that was revealing was that both JBE and the doctor kept bringing up Louisiana's case count as compared to its population.

Obviously, the total case count is irrelevant and most early cases are now over. And, as we know we started out very hot due to Mardi Gras.

Yet, they brought it up multiple times.

Also, they said 10k is the "actively infected" count. Based on what I can tell, that's based on a 20 day count of new cases (work backwards from newest data). I have no idea where they got 20 days. 14 seems appropriate based on everything I've heard, plus you know the date the new cases are reported are well after the actual infection.

If you used 14 days, the number is closer to 6k.

These are simple questions that should be asked. I think JBE would choke on them if they were asked to be honest.

This is the criteria to get to Phase 1
Looking under cases

They are definitely downplaying the State's inability to logistically solve the testing problem.

These people really don't have any idea how to get things done. Watching Trump be perplexed about why the states can't figure these things out when they are hand fed the necessary information is very telling.
