Watched his grandson get choked out at North Gate Tavern for acting like a little bitch. That was fun.
I’ve encountered relatives of his, at least that’s what they claim. Some of the trashiest people ever.

I met him when I was about 6 or 7 years old. He asked me if I had a girlfriend. Thankfully, I did.

I was in Starbucks in Gonzales about 7 years ago. He walked in and spent a few minutes introducing himself to very person in there and chatting. Nice guy. Ever the politician.

The guy who built my pool said EE paid for his pool with cash in a paper grocery bag. I believe it.

Met him briefly once at a ribbon cutting event.
About twenty years later I saw him again at the Bacchus Ball.
He remembered my last name and where he’d met me before.
If you are sober lifelong and a genius, I guess you can do those types of things.
Too bad his superpowers weren’t used for the public good.

I remember this. Wonder if he still posts here?

From a lot of sources, he typically liked to basically have a romance with a chick for a matter of weeks and then move on. And did so. Nothing bad or crazy, just a guy doing his thing.

I always respected him for owning being a scumbag. Nothing worse than the guys who preach piety and do the opposite.

Sat behind him in a movie once. His brother lived near us once. Saw the bullet holes still in the Crowley office ceiling where his other brother was killed. All I got.

Friend,
Father and I were walking on St Charles Avenue back in 1989 or 1990. We were across the street from Houston’s when we crossed paths with Edwin Edwards. Governor Edwards stopped and said, “Hey, father (he used father’s real name).” They talked for a minute or two. Father told me as we continued the walk that he had only met Edwards once before, at a dinner party more than a decade before our encounter.
Apparently, Edwin Edwards hardly ever forgot a face or a name. Though he voted for Edwards once, when Edwards was in the runoff against the KKK guy that humiliated the state on the world stage, father despised Edwards for bringing legalized gambling back to our state.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Friend,
It's true that EWE had this gift and it served him well as a public official.
