WTF is wrong with pitbull owners?

So recently we were looking to adopt another corgi since we lost one of our two in July. The shocking thing I noticed on most adoption websites is the ridiculous amount of pitbulls, pitbull mixes, and “terrier mixes” (basically a pitbull mix that they don’t want to say is a pitbull mix). Probably 75% of the dogs up for adoption are goddamn pits or pit mixes.
Apparently these shitty dogs breed like rabbits because their trashy owners don’t bother getting them spayed and neutered. I would support legislation that mandates spay and neuter for all dogs unless you have a license to breed dogs. Maybe this would prevent the out of control mongrel population of dogs and give some relief to the numerous animal shelters.
Pit owners and enthusiasts, no one wants to adopt your shitty pits and pit mixes. Be fricking responsible.

you need a strong owner to raise a good pit bull. Unfortunately most pit owners are trashy pieces of shite and we end up with the mess we are in right now

I am not gonna argue that pits don't have something inherently wrong in their DNA that makes them more susceptible for attacks (but I imagine other breeds do too). But I am almost convinced that they just happen to be the breed of choice for trash a-hole (trasholes?) classes of people who are terrible dog owners, and that's the main reason their attacks are so prevalent.
If trashy people loved chihuahuas, for example, I bet we'd see a lot more chihuahua attacks happening because they would be owned by the same idiot dogowners.

I have some completely non trashy friends that adopted a Pit. She’s sweet as hell but even they wouldn’t allow her around a small child. Always keep her leashed when walking and inside the fenced yard or home. The point is they are still cautious even though they see just the sweet side of the dog.
On a side note any time I take her for a walk I ask if she wants to go hunt some babies. She gets excited and I like to think she knows what I’m saying.

Pretty sure all dogs that aren’t spayed or neutered breed like rabbits.

9 of the first 20 I viewed were PB or PB mix. I see your point and validate it sir! I did see a mountain cur that I thought I’d like but I have a dog, husky/GSD mix that is awesome.

My family has always adopted from shelters. The choices for non-pitbull breeds is extremely limited.
Even more sad, many of the pitbulls for adoption had big warning signs "DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PET"... meaning, the dog was so damn mean already, only dopers, dealers, and dumbasses would want to adopt. Nearly all of these dogs end up being euthanized.
As a Conservative, I'm generally against heavy-handed regulatory policy... but would support requiring animals to be spade or neutered unless you have a breeders license.
It's out of control.

I just typed in a random zip, 54765 (somewhere in WI). 6 of the first 8 were pits.
