The tipping is out of control but at least there is a chance the lowly worker gets it.
Don't forget that Square and MC/Visa/Amex all take a cut of the overall transaction too.

Everyone should ask for employee discount when using self checkout. If they want to make you work for them you should get a better price.

No, I have wasted a lot more time reading crap on here through the years! Just rarely post.

If the woke generation is fighting back against this self-service tipping, maybe not all is lost.
I wonder if the crumbl workers are getting paid real wages or the restaurant min wage.

It's the most overrated cookie place I've ever seen.
It was like eating cake that had no rise or something. Hate those things.

Are people who work behind the counter at Crumbl not getting a good wage? Do they rely on tips?
I agree that this is exactly the scenario where the automatic tip prompt is kind of foolish. Why on earth would I tip someone for grabbing a cookie and putting it into a bag. That's expected. That's not above and beyond.
And the lowest level automatic tip is about 50% on that screen shot. That's damn high.

Well, yeah. The poorest person in the transaction can’t get all the money, wtf!

I agree with this. Not even tip related. But their products are just not that good.
For a place that specializes in cookies, I expected a much better cookie.

I'd pay extra to use self checkout.

Find your balls and slam the No Tip button?

Yep. I like to look them right in the eye, slowly and deliberately pressing the "no tip" button as I revel in seeing their facial expression change from hopeful to bitter.
fricking bums
I don't tip counter service. But I can't help but feel sooner or later (If I have not already) I will be unknowingly ingesting someone else's spit.

Good business idea somebody prints out business size cards with some life lesson quotes ie, motivational tips, than person hands “tip”card out when being served

10% tip to walk into a restaurant, pay in cash and pick up your order. Like WTF
Posted on 5/8/23 at 12:48 pm to Hou_Lawyer
So tipping more and getting less personal interaction and assistance from employees
Makes sense /s

I don't mind the prompt so much when I don't want to tip as I just say no; but when I do want to tip, and it has strange amounts in it (like 21% or a dollar figure that isn't derived from an logical percentage such as 5, 10, 20, etc.), it annoys me and makes me not want to tip as now I am having to do a custom amount or some shite. Had one the other day with like 17 and 21 percent in it and it took a couple of clicks to give a custom amount.

I’m glad I’m just an a-hole. I enjoy hitting no tip. Of course I still tip my restaurant servers well though
Posted on 5/8/23 at 2:36 pm to JetsetNuggs
I wonder why they do it?

what really bothers me is them asking for a tip when I'm paying before they've even addressed my order.
Maybe I'm paranoid but do the ones preparing my order know at that point that I gave no tip?
At that point, am I then subject to retaliation from the ones preparing my food? This bothers me.
I rarely eat that kind of food anyway but next time this happens I am going to tell them to just cancel the order and never go back.
frick that shite.
