quote:

Epstein wrote that Jill Biden – the wife of President-elect Joe Biden -- using “Dr.” before her name “sounds and feels fraudulent, not to say a touch comic,” because her doctorate is in education, not medicine or science.

He also argues that earning a Ph.D. “may once have held prestige, but that has been diminished by the erosion of seriousness and the relaxation of standards in university education generally.”

quote:

In a Twitter post on Saturday, McCain appeared to agree with Northwestern that Epstein was being misogynistic with his article.

“I am so sick of the way accomplished, educated, successful women like @DrBiden are talked about in the media by misogynistic men,” McCain wrote. “BEYOND SO SICK OF IT.”

I AM LITERALLY SHAKING!!!

Anyone having a doctorate in education and putting Dr before their name is an attention whore.

I never understood the reason for anyone with a doctorate besides in an actual medical/science situation, to use "Dr." You don't see "Get Dr. Gordon, Get it done."

I have a feeling any negative the author could have written would have had the same result.

Friend,

The only "doctorate" with lower standards and less rigor is the "doctorate of chiropractoring" or whatever they call it. In no reasonable realm should the chiropractors or others call chiropractors doctors.

Yours,

Esquire would suffice in that instance.

This is absolutely true.

The article served no purpose and was just an a-hole thing to do.

Not a fan of cancel culture but you reap what you sew

On the other hand any “Dr.” MD, PHd, ED is a complete jackass if they expect to be called Dr by another adult in non-professional setting.

While true, a college campus is not the place to say that. They'll take it personally.

Worked with a guy that had a PhD in some social science. Insisted on being called Dr.---. If anyone called him Mr.---, he would correct them.

"It's Dr."

True, but a "doctor" nonetheless. But esq. is a suffix for the signature, whereas "Dr." is the prefix, which would follow with the suffix of the type of doctor (M.D., etc.) But as noted above, in this particular situation, it's all an optic measure to give an illusion of prestige, or "medical knowledge." I don't care what they call themselves, they got the degree they can do it if they want to. The fact that that baw got cancelled just shows the sad state of the world we live in where you can't formulate your own opinion. I guess those Northwestern's haven't signed the visionary new Austin, Tx "Social Contract" yet.

True Story...

I honestly believed the woman was an M.D. up until about a month ago. I was a little shocked. The media has thrown the Doctor thing around so much.

Saying, literally, “she’s a doctor”...how many people who have PhDs, been referred to as a Doctor? Literally never.
Yes, of course you can refer to a professor or someone with a PhD as Dr. ____, but you don’t say, “they’re a doctor”,

Hey screw you pal. Chiropractors didn’t go to medical school so people like you can not call them doctors!

The moral of the whole story is this: Men, no matter what you say or don’t say; no matter what you do or don’t do, when it comes to almost anything, but especially to opinions about women, keep your mouth shut! Simply turn around and walk away...no, crawl away from the marketplace of ideas...and on your belly.

write completely false hit piece about Trump’s family - get a promotion
write a critique of a Biden, Clinton, OBama, or Kamala - plan on losing your job and being shamed publicly.
