Elevated home in EBR...planning on letting faucets drip tonight, would the weather experts wrap pipes as well?

Bob Breck always taught if it’s going to be 28 or less for four hours or more wrap em up.

I'd just them them drip a good steady drip. Maybe even a slight stream. Wrapping pipe is a pita.

Are your pipes Pex? Either way probably not necessary this freeze but it can't hurt to do it in case later in the winter we get a long hard freeze..

in order for dripping the pipes to work, you need to make sure every branch line is running. so even a hose bib outside needs to run or it will freeze.
on a raised house, your pipes under the house should already be insulated. if not they need to be.
insulation on buys you time as it slows the heat transfer process. a long prolonged cold snap will still freeze insulated pipes.
I remember my dad under the house Christmas eve in the early 80's trying to thaw out the pipes in our house in the garden district in BR...... we had 3 straight days where it didnt get above freezing.

You should ALWAYS wrap your pipe.

Did you buy your house around Lee Drive and Stanford because you wanted to feel like you have a certain status?

the skirting on your trailer should block the wind. You'll be ok.

My house also on a raised foundation. Playing to drip tonight and wrap up the exposed spigots.

Yep. My pipes froze and busted a few years ago. After we repaired the pipes we insulated all of them.

Rule of thumb is wrap your pipes north of Florida Blvd.

We don’t live in Minnesota
People really overreact in Louisiana
When we get those but once a decade cold snaps like a couple of years ago when it got down to 12 is when you need to do something. Southern’s library flooded out that cold snap.
Or in 89 when it got down to 9 and Exxon blew up.

Exactly.
I’m not wrapping pipes unless it below 20-25 for an extended period of time.

(It’s OK, he was dead, the coroner said we legally had to do something with him)
Not good.
