Yeah, I posted that before I read that he put in the "no risk of getting raped" caveat. Even without that caveat it isn't something that I would be worried about. All the accounts I have heard or read say that prison rape really isn't something that you generally worry about in prison. There are enough "punks" in prison who are giving it away freely that people don't have to take it by force. I'm sure rape happens sometimes, but it also happens sometimes in the real world, and it currently isn't something that I spend a lot of time thinking about either.

Hell yes I would.
Get some reading done, get in shape, and get out with $50M in my bank account.
The only downside is having to deal with the worst of the worst all the time, but that’s not a huge deal if my safety is guaranteed.

Why would it have to be wasted? I’d probably use the time to actually get in shape and do a lot of reading.
So here’s $5,707.76 an hour to workout, read, and sleep. Instead of toiling away at a 9-5 for the next 35 years I can now do whatever the frick I want. I’d probably do it without the guarantees of no murder or rape.

Considering that I have been to Iraq and Afghanistan multiple times for the same amount of time but for a lot less $$$ and had the daily threat of death...I say sign me up. They would probably have an exception statement excluding servicemen and women.

Yeah, I'd do it. It'd be miserable and I'd need access to books and stuff to keep my mind sharp, but otherwise, hell yeah.

Just popping in to say that you shouldn't have guaranteed not getting killed or raped.
Be more interesting to consider a year of survival with hardened criminals without having too much psychological damage.
