I haven't had a car note in over 10yrs and it was less than $300. Not that I couldn't afford a $700 car note, but the thought of it would make me feel uneasy for a while.

An example would be..

$55K F-150
$15K down, finance $40K at 2.5% for 60months

$710 note

Not really. Cause I used to have that exact car note for the exact truck for 5 years until I paid it off last year

Yes because it would be $300 less than my current note

The GF's dad pays 750 and can afford it.... he also went 3 years instead of stretching it out for the max of 6.

The title of this thread sounded like the idea for a terrible TV game show.

Probably. I have two for less than that. Which pisses me off since someone crashed into me to cause that

But to each their own.

I don’t get it. I have a friend who finances a new F-150 with all the bells and whistles and an Audi Q7 for the wife. 7 year notes on both.

It's not always financially terrible. With a good rate and a high income, there's not a lot of reason not to. But I'm in the same boat. If a note gets over 500, I feel uneasy about it. Even if it's affordable for me personally.

Car note currently is $1000. That’s what happens when you finance 36k for 36 months. Nbd. Buy something cheaper if you’re a poor.

I'll never buy a vehicle unless they're offering 0%

I have learned not to trust morning farts after drinking the night before. Possibly?

Why pull money from an investment that you're making 20% on. Who cares how much the payment is, what's the % rate.

Around 500/m is my limit I'm comfortable with.

If I don't have enough to put down to get it there I don't buy.

Add full coverage insurance to that $700 as well.

I've always paid cash for vehicles. I've also never paid over $15k for one. I could afford a luxury vehicle but not the way I choose to spend my money. Just need something reliable to get me from point A to B.

....to each their own tho.
