I’ve put myself in danger to rescue a dog I didn’t know and I’ve pulled a gun over someone threatening my own dog.
Most dogs are pure love and joy and deserve no ill brought towards them.
I can’t sit by and watch a dog die or potentially die or be injured and do nothing.

Is this another thread where the pet psychos talk about how they'd throw a random human in front of a bus to save a random dog?

It’s easy for some of y’all to say no, but if the circumstance suddenly came up, there’s a good chance your reaction to save your dog would be involuntary.

You’d go into fight mode.

It depends, I’ll take on any creature in Louisiana or any human without a gun, but I can’t do much against someone with a gun if I’m not armed. I do know that two of my dogs would die for my family no question about it.

Without any hesitation. She nearly died killing a rattlesnake to save me.

Absolutely, without thought or hesitation.

I cannot say I would do the same for most people theae days, injury maybe, but not life unless it was a child.

but sitting by doing nothing is not in my nature.

This is not a problem. My daily carry is .45ACP, and it is *always* on me unless I'm boozing. I don't like either of my ex-wife's dogs, but I still shoot anything fuc$ing with them.

There's a general problem with people in that they think they can break up domesticated animal fights by hand. Bathe a cat, get back to me.

Domesticated animals are dangerous, but not usually vicious (maybe you live in MSY, so they are), but coyotes, bobcats, etc., are not to be reasoned with. I love animals, but it's Thunderdome when it comes to wild animals. Turn your back on a tiger or lion in a wildlife sanctuary; the tail goes up, the pupils dilate, it's on. It desperately wants to kill you, it's who they are.

The recent story out of DeKalb county, GA, where the sheepdog killed 8 coyotes was amazing. Considering I've lived there, and it's for sure not "farm" territory, it was a bit unexpected.

No, it isn't. I would not risk my life to save my dog. No logical person would.

Good lord, it's a dog. Decades? Something is maladjusted with some of you. You're projecting far too much on to an animal.

It depends on the situation but I have children. Would be awfully selfish to leave them without a father for an animal.

First off, where did I say I was going to mess with a dog? Secondly, you're a liberal pussy so I'm not really worried about you.
