Who would have thought that *this* was the thread where we separate the soy boys from the dudes?

Proper answer: Not risking my life, because of firearms.
bullshite answer: My baby needs a daddy, and I just had my nails trimmed, no weps onboard.

Bobby is a 14 year old Jack Russell with full blown dog dementia. No. I have children.

I’ve done it numerous time for a stranger’s dog, as recent as last Wednesday, so of course I’m going to do it for mine. I don’t have to be logical in your opinion, people are just built different. Some people have dogs that have changed their lives, and treat them like their own kids. It’s not a knock on people who wouldn’t, some people don’t even let them on the couch or inside the home. Again, everyone is different. Logic IMO says you risk your life for another life no matter what. And my dog‘s life is worth the same as yours.

Absolutely. Especially if some dude was trying to rape her in front of a nativity scene I’m going all John Wick.

Firearms make this a near impossibility.

If I was starving, I would likely eat my dog if need be. So no.

frick that. We would die together. Because a week later, you would still be starving to death, with the knowledge you killed your best friend.

Overall, it depends. Not certain death like jumping in front of a train seconds away, but certainly something dangerous without much though.

The thing is, I’ve come to accept that my dog, a GR, loves me the least in the family because wife feeds him and is sweet (and that lady/dog thing is real), and the kids are like packmates. I’m just the alpha a-hole that has to lay down the law occasionally busting up his garbage digging fun. So my feelings towards the animal are both personal but also with my wife and kids in mind.

How about, I'm just not stupid. A dog can be replaced with another dog. Again, y'all anthropomorphize dogs too much using them to fill some hole in your lives.

I have done it, but didn’t realize until after it was all over what I’d done. Before, I probably would have said no. But when it came down to it, with no time to think, I did.
