Own a mountain Lodge. Stay there March-November. Snowbird beach rental December-February.

Mountain lodge. Clean crisp air and great views. Fireplace roaring in a snug cabin. I can always add a layer of clothing but, you can only take off just so many clothes in the heat of the South.
You’re aware there are beaches outside the south right?

Beach - hot, sand, wind. The wind alone by the oceans makes it a non-starter for me. Can't stand wind.
Mountain - a poster hit on it earlier, it gets cold. My brother lives in the mountains of Colorado and they don't get a summer until June and it's gone by September.
Prairie - where I live now. Make it a lakeside prairie home in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Dakotas and it's a forever home. Done deal.

but a beach house in the Monterey/Carmel CA area would be heaven
We had a family vacation there back in July and it was amazing . The weather alone was worth the trip

Beach.
Beach is easy living. Beach town have a laid back vibe.
Mountains are hard living. Walk to the mailbox is a hike. Pull out you driveway… Splat. semi truck. Then the weather gets cold. People that live in the mountains are miserable cretins.
I guess if you have 8 billion dollars you can live nice anywhere.

Beach. I could live in an airstream if it was sitting on a beach.

Mountain cabin. Plenty of beautiful spots here in Kentucky.

As far from the masses as possible so not a beach.

Mountains forever. Don’t need the heat and sand in everything.

Mountain. I’m more drawn to hunting, fishing, and camping.

Mountain lodge in Oregon or Montana.
I don’t even like the beach now. There’s no way that I will be living anywhere near a beach. The only sand I want to stand on would be a little creek running through nature

Other than fishing, I could do without the beach too these days. Especially in a hot and humid location.

Years ago it was the beach…now the mountain lodge for sure - I just love being in clean air and a mountain stream.
( I think I’ve answered this before)
