Tyler, but I'm almost 50 and married. I'd prefer the smaller place assuming my ability to make a living was similar.

Boerne, Spring Branch or Bulverde
This is the correct answer

Tyler? If you want a decent sized town and a slow-paced life it’s a fine city. Tyler is as cliquey as the coon-arse Louisiana towns, you either suck up and fit in or you will never truly be accepted. They are a bit strange but as it grows the society is diminishing.
I found Tyler similar to a lot of the medium sized cities in Louisiana. There's a lot of nepotism in hiring there and politics/police/government is definitely a "good ole boy" system. I guess that's kind of the norm in any place in the South that isn't in a major Metropolitan area though.

Tyler.
Because for all intents and purposes, I live in Tyler.

Tyler.
And it’s not even close.

Surrounding counties to the North are among the fastest growing counties in the nation. There is no longer much of a dividing line up I35 between SA and Austin, so how big of a MSA are you talking about? SA is the 24th largest MSA and Austin is the 25th, as of the 2020 census. Both were growing considerably faster than all but 1-2 of the MSA's above them.

Never been to San Antonio, so I'm going to say Tyler.

San Antonio oughta be the unanimous pick bc the OT likes fat girls

San Antonio is the only place in my entire life ive actually seen a bum shite on a sidewalk. So there's that.

Tyler is a very strange place. SA wins, for me.
My In-laws lived there twenty years ago, and that was true then

Because of annexation, it is not very accurate. Certainly doesn’t feel like it

There is nothing like San Antonio/Austin anywhere in the US.
It's the best part of Texas but this is an overstatement. I would pick SA easily over Tyler

I sit in San Antonio traffic every work day.
It definitely feels like it to me.
