Probably if I wanted basic, reliable transportation that I did not want to sink money into. Basically, keep it maintained.
I would not buy a fleet truck, though.

Tried to buy my old work truck, 100k mikes in 2 years all interstate, never missed a oil change. Fleet manager said they don’t allow that anymore.

I am buying my truck from my company now, but I know how I took care of it and I put all of the miles on it. Plus the price is insanely low. Half of blue book. I couldn't pass it up.

My neice works for pharma sales. She had a 2020 equinox fleet car with 10k miles on it. She had the option to buy it for $13k and my sister in law bought it.
Still under warranty. Even it is lasts 3 years she's ahead.
My neice is also no a hard driver.

The wife (no pics) is currently driving a 2013 Chrysler 300s
that we purchased in early 2015. It was a corporate car with 18K miles. I was skeptical due to the fact that it was corporate and also a Chrysler, I have never owned a Chrysler product. The car now has 134K on the clock and has not had a single issue since we've owned it.
As far as Carmax goes, I've never dealt with them but I did have a co-worker purchase a Vette from them a few years back. He had tons of issues with the car non stop and after fighting them for a year they bought back the Vette. Turns out it had a bent crankshaft when he bought it.

The MINI JCW I currently drive was a fleet rental. I bought it at a Lamborghini dealership. 4,300 miles with a brand new transmission, I don't know what kind of life it had before I bought it. Has 164,000 miles on it now.

Well yeah their business model is one that you should not be trying to have a long-term relationship with. They are good at what they are - at least I've had no issues.

sure. fleet vehicles are usually maintained on schedule better than personal.

Everyone says been abused but had maintenance...
A lot of fleet or rental may be sold with low miles, there for there was really not much maintenance needed or to be done. Usually around 40-50k miles is a fairly large maintenance package called for. Before that maintenance package, its mostly change the oil and check the belts and other fluid levels.
Fleet and rental cars are generally driven like they were owned by a teenager. Faster acceleration (Put to the floor a lot) and hard stopping.

That’s a pretty solid price. Their extended warranties are actually very good.
Saw a video on YouTube about a guy that bought a Dodge Ram from car max. Thing ended up having an engine issue and they basically put a brand new engine in it after a failed attempt or two to repair.

Business and rental fleets are maintained better than most private parties.
I drove my college vehicle 36k miles without an oil change then traded it in, feel sorry for whoever ended up with that one.

I bought a car from Enterprise. Haven’t had any problems with that vehicle 200000 miles later . I do stay on top of regular maintenance and oil changes . I would buy another from them

I sold Toyotas in 2018. You could have been in a brand new XLE for 34k back then. Sucks for people who need to purchase a car now. The used market is all jacked up still!

my old company had a policy where employees could buy the old lease trucks, but they cancelled it. The fleet managers had a bit of a scam going where people would give them some cash and the fleet managers were selling them the pick of the fleet for discounts. The buyer would then take the trucks and sell them on the open market and pocket the profit.

Sure. Two years ago I bought a 2016 F150 XLT 5.0 with 114K miles for $5K from my uncle's fleet. The truck had right at 4,000 engine hours but roughly 2,200 of those were at idle

Just bought a 2018 Nissan Frontier for 7k from the company my mom works for.
Couldn’t be happier.

No kidding. We’re in a bit of a desperate situation, so we’ve got to bite the bullet.

I would try to avoid buying from any kind of fleet if possible, but I wouldn't say it's always a bad experience.
I bought a 2014 Fusion from Carmax with extended warranty that was originally used in a company fleet. I've had no issues with the vehicle aside from the water pump going out at around 100,000 miles which is expected on a lot of Ford models. Carmax fully covered that repair, and overall I've been satisfied with the purchase.
I'm sure my experience is more lucky than anything else though.

You have two types of people that drive a "company car" in business fleets.
The "frick it...I don't care it's not mine" guy. He doesn't give a shite if it is kept clean. May smoke in it against company regs. Doesn't get tires rotated, oil changed, or any other maintenance until it breaks down or he gets hate mail from corporate about being behind on the service. Drives it hard and abuses the hell out it.
The "I am in this thing 4-10 hours per day...I'm taking care of it" guy. He pampers it like his own. Gets all service done on time. Realizes it is crazy to ignore service when it isn't even on your dime. Car is usually spotless. Gets hate mail from corporate because there were four full-service car wash receipts on his expense report last month. Gets upset when corporate upgrades the fleet with newer models and he loses "my baby".
It's a roll of the dice. Get the one guy B drove and you're fine.
