Hell no. I barely trust my 11 year old at the house by herself. I sure as hell wouldn't trust her in charge of a 3 year old.

3 yr old? No. 5+ if the 11 yr old was the older sibling and I knew they were trustworthy

For a few hours, but not a few days. If it's going to be for a few days, you need someone with a driver's license.

Why do you need a baby sittter for two weeks? For that long of a time period bring the kid to someone in you or your wife’s family. To let an 11 year old watch a kid for two weeks...Are you stupid or something?

If the babysitter was the kids sibling and you are going down the road to do your grocery shopping, maybe. A big maybe. Gone all day and the babysitter is another kid? Hell no.

If they can’t make spagetti, they shouldn’t be babysitting.

I've heard that that's like asking a horse to babysit your dog

It depends on the 3 year old and the 11 year old.

At 3 and 11, no it really doesn't.

We’re about to abandon our 3-er with 60 yo gm for a long trip and this makes me nervous and drink more.

I wouldn't even let my daughter stay at home by herself at 11 for any length of time, much less babysitting a toddler.

All you guys sound like women. The pussification of America continues.

I have a 13 y.o. and I'm just getting comfortable letting her watch my 3 and 5 y.o. 11 is too young IMO.

No way. 11 year old is a 6th grader....
way too much to handle a 3 year old by themselves for 8-9 hrs
way too much responsibility. and any parent that would let their 11 year old take on that responsibility is crazy as well.... way too much risk vs reward.

I baby sat the first time when I was 11, but we lived on the same street about 4 houses down and my mom was home in case I needed her. I don’t think I would let an 11 year old babysit my child, unless an adult who was available was nearby.

Actually I believe the cut off age to be home alone is 12.
