Would you feel guilty if you did what I did the other night, and was it a dick move?

So here’s the story. After taking my family and elderly parents to dinner we exit into the parking lot and I get everyone loaded in the vehicle, only to find that the drivers door can only open A small amount for me to get in the vehicle. The person on the left had done the worlds most inconsiderate parking job And parked so crooked that their front right fender was just a few inches from my driver side door. So my choices are have my father get back out of the vehicle and stand in the parking lot while I climb over the center console To reach the driver seat or become a contortionist and squeeze in through the small gap allowed by the inconsiderate driver next to me.
I chose the latter, and opened the door as far as the neighboring car would allow and then entered my vehicle. Completely aware of the fact that my door may leave a blemish on the neighboring car as a result. However once in my vehicle, as I was backing out, I saw what appeared to be not just a simple rub mark, but very likely an actual ding near where the door had been in contact with the other vehicle. No it’s not 100% certainty that it wasn’t there before but it’s a good 99% chance that I caused it.
Now I was pissed, tired, and had a vehicle full of tired family. So I went home. But now after time for reflection I’m struggling with whether or not I was wrong to not leave a note on the window or at least get out of vehicle to more closely inspect the mark. I think I was wrong to just leave and wish I hadn’t.

You put a lot of effort in such a shitty post.

For anyone wondering, its not worth the read.

If that person parks like an asshat all the time then the probability of the door ring being there already is high. If not then it is karma for parking like an a-hole

On one hand, you damaged someone else's property, on the other they park like shite and deserved it. Idk..

A small ding? Good buildup, poor delivery
Posted on 11/24/17 at 8:25 am to Old Sarge
You and the other driver both kinda seem like assholes
So I guess it cancels out
So I guess it cancels out

Next time kick their door to cause enough of a dent so that you can open your door and not ding their ride

Ya dings are a part of parking with the rest of the public - especially if you are a shitty parker/driver. Also that dude has probably bumped someone leaving due to his shitty parking job so you are all good.

Why wasn't your boyfriend driving?

I don’t think Id feel as bad if it was a POS vehicle next to me, but is was a newer small suv. I wish I would’ve left a note and offered to pay half, I don’t know

How close were you to the line? If you parked on the edge of your spot that's on you and you should feel bad. If you parked in the middle of your spot and they parked right on the line, or over the line, then it's their fault and I wouldn't worry about it.

What restaurant were you at? This could determine a lot of responses.

Hasn't been established here previously, that you are a huge, fat motherfricker?

Their fault, not yours. If somebody parks like that, they should expect dents and scratches.

This is like an OweO post with working legs

Assholes who park like that lose any right to be mad if someone dings their car. If you don't want the possibility of a car dinging yours, park straight in the middle of the space.
