It’s been in the Silverado for several years now. Supposedly they don’t have many issues with them at all.
But it sounds like a weed eater.
I drove one and it sounded like it might come apart any minute LOL...supposed to be a good one though...

Aside from the Ridgeline none of those look bad, a small truck doesn't cut it for my towing though.
As a rental or a loaner I'd drive any of those

The styling update for the Toyota has been one the best in a long time imo. The new sequoia looks sharp.
Dude up the street drives a new Tundra...looks an awful lot like a Nissan to me...

But I don’t like that all these car companies are switching to turbo 4 cylinders in place of V6 and V8 engines
The turbo 4 in the Colorado puts out more torque than the v6 from my old '18 Tacoma. I did spend the extra $400 for the dealership to tune it to 430 ft/lbs.
I think, but not 100% sure, that the switch stems from governmental regulations, but my mpg is only a fraction better than the v6 was. Almost not even worth measuring.

The way GM is running now, there wasn't much of a markup. They had 1 pre-production truck on lot for test drives. The one I drove was a Canyon AT4. We then went onto the data base and looked at vehicles that were already built and "in transit", but not yet spoken for. I was able to find a Colorado Z71 in the color I wanted, put $1000 deposit, added dealership options, and waited 3 weeks for it. MSRP was $46K after the dealership options, I paid just shy of 48K when it arrived 3 weeks later.
Better than my experience with Ford, where I put in an order for a Ranger Lariat and waited 7 months and still had no word on when it would get to me.

That’s really good for a very new vehicle. I think the Colorado’s only just started shipping.

430lbs from a mid sized truck is insane. You couldn’t get that in a half ton truck that long ago. Even now that’s on par with the higher end full sized truck gas motors or diesels.

Hmmmmmmmm - looks identical to a Toyota Tacoma
Hard pass because Toyota is far superior over Ford

I'd love to have a true compact pickup. Why won't anyone build it?

I own a 2021 Ranger and love it. Yes, I would drive it.

I wouldn't buy it, but I would drive it if given to me...

I once owned a 95 Ranger with the 4 cylinder engine and 5 speed manual transmission and loved that truck, except for the lack of space in the truck bed for hauling material----especially sheet goods that would not fit between the wheel wells.
I have the long bed, no problems on that score. Mine isn't running, currently, I miss driving it.

From the link,
That kind of HP out of a V6 makes me skeptical of the engine's longevity and durability.

I want to hate that new turbo 2.7L motor from GM. But it is turning out to be a very powerful, reliable engine in their full sized trucks. They’ve decided to replace the old 4.3L engine that was common in the work truck trim levels with the turbo 2.7L. It just doesn’t offer much of a fuel economy advantage over that engine or even the lower level V8s.
Downsized, forced induction motors aren’t really for fuel economy. They are built to meet emissions compliance regulations. They are here to replace the V8, not to be the fuel efficient alternative.

Honestly….kind of underwhelmed except for the Raptor. The GMC Canyon and new Tacoma both look better to me.
A buddy of mine just bought a 23 F150 Platinum. I have been smitten now. Anything below that level is underwhelming to me now. I have some friends with some nice GMC’s and Rams too but the Platinum fit me the best…
I am still a couple yrs out on replacing my current truck so I cant wait to see what they have then

I'd drive any of those in the picture since I just use a truck to go from A to B.

Looks like they gave it dimples and a nice smile. Interesting demographic being targeted. Does it come with Hello Kitty cup holders?

The price is shocking but seems like its about right considering the crap that dealers have been pulling for 3 years. Under $50K is about what one should expect....still shocking though LOL...

I won’t drive a truck smaller than a half ton. At that point just drive a midsize SUV

The newer (21 and up) rangers are getting similar reliability ratings to the same year tacos plus they are a higher % made in america IRRC. I may be thinking of older models.
