It is going to be interesting to see how the tuner market attacks this. At 134hp per liter there is pretty much nothing left on the NA route except for running more RPMs which given the 9k red line there isn't much left there. This would require a ground-up rebuild with a different cam profile to even eek out another 80 or so HP. Without going to a complex variable lift/duration valvetrain drivability will suffer.

I expect boost.

Only one way to find out what it can do.

To each their own, but not even over the base model C8. The Z06 is going to be crazy fast and fun to drive.

It has 4 exhaust pipes, so you have something to lord over environmentalists.

I drove a C8 Stingray around a track last week, and I gotta say, as a Euro car fan, I was very impressed. If the Stingray was that good, then you bet your arse I'm all over the Z06.

Would still pucker at the stoplight though if this rolled up next to me

To each his own, But I'd gladly give up 0.6 seconds to have the Z06 looks, sounds handling, and brakes.

I think of you want a 1,000 HP daily you would be better off starting with the base 6.2.

The lower compression version with twin turbos will be coming next, I suspect in 2023.

Better question is would you spend $90k to buy it? I would not.

While I agree I can see spending 90k on the vette vs a pickup truck

IMO the Z06 is a track car best left alone in the engine department. That isn't saying you can add some power with some modest boost, there are turboed 458s out in the wild, but the engine becomes a time bomb. The effective pressure on the cylinders is already so high on the LT6 so boost is just begging for con rod failure. You would have to think the connecting rods have minimal extra strength because 9,000 rpm requires the reciprocating mass to be as low as possible, grams matter. Plus turbos will mute some of the great FPC induced engine note, which would be a crime against humanity as well as slowing the throttle response which is what makes running a high revving NA engine so much fun on the track.

No matter how you slice it the Z06 assuming the package can reliably hotlap is going to be a road track hero.

Most of the "winners" on OT would consider that "OT poor."

OTOH one could have several of those for the cost of a single 812 super fast.

It's still a penis extension, but looks way funner than previous models. The only time I ever see these, they are doing 50 on the freeway, hoggin up the fast like they are in a parade.

I would take the Z06 as well, but the Plaid is more than 0.6 seconds. It would just keep pulling away from the Z06 in a straight line.

Now on the track the Z06 would destroy the Plaid.

+1 for Porsche. Chevrolet won’t last. Over 75% of Porsches ever built are still on the road.

Porsches are driven on average far less than a Chevrolet….or any other more mainstream car.

Damn that thing sounds awesome. I thought the LFA or R8 were the best sounding cars on the market, but this one is schweet.
