Would you climb Mt Everest if someone paid your way?

I think it is something like $150K to climb Everest.

I don't think there is much (or any) rock climbing associated with it. I think it's just walking up a big arse, dangerous hill, with a bunch of sketchy passes you must transverse. (I maybe wrong here)

Would you do it?

Or would you rather go to outer space instead, if someone paid for it?

I added a disclaimer that I maybe wrong. I've never seen anything about "rock climbing" when going to the top of Everest. I've seen some videos where it was damn near rock climbing because of the pitch.

Sure I would. Especially if it was a Cadillac experience ( O2, Sherpas, hike planner, etc...). Geriatrics, teenagers, disableds climb it all the time. Not to downplay it's dangers too much, but if those types can do it I have a pretty good shot at not dying.

Trust me, it's not finances that are keeping me from attempting to climb it.

Nah. If somebody is going to spend 150K to kill me, I have much more entertaining ways to accomplish it.

Everest is not known to be a super technical climb, but it's quite a bit more than just strolling up an extremely large hill.

i'd go to Space before Everest, but would do either if someone were paying the way.

It is not even the farthest distance from the core. Would suck to die and be on the wrong mountain.

This is what I meant. There are many difficult areas, but you are not climbing the "North Wall".

I don't really want to do either.

Can we have a third option?
