Guys pick the toughest climb once the walk in the park has been done by grandparents.
This is clue.
Hang gliding
Surfing
Ski
You can do it all easily for a fit and trained person or choose very very dangerous conditions.

Everest is always very dangerous due to the altitude. Some people simply can't climatize properly. There's always inherent risk no matter what route you take or whether you're being escorted up the mountain or not.
People keep talking about the cold. Of course it's cold but you can dress for that. What you can't prepare for is getting 30% of the oxygen in every breath that you get at sea level. This makes the cold more difficult to deal with and addles the mind. Decision making becomes compromised and people keep going when all signs point to turning around. That's how most people die up there.
Saying that you can do it very easily if fit is a false statement. That's what gets people killed.

I would do Everest all day over Space because I'm terrified of flying.
That said, no I would not do Everest even if someone paid for it. I would like to go to Base Camp though.

That's 30% more than you get in space.

Space, not a doubt in my mind. Imagine what its like to be in space, feeling weightlessness and looking out the window at Earth.
And as uncomfortable as it would be shooting into space and wearing all that space gear, it would be a luxury vacation compared to the summit of Everest.
I would pay my own way to Everest base camp though.

If I had to pick between the two I'd pick space.

Serious question- What's the equivalent altitude in pressure that they give astonauts in space?
Posted on 5/1/17 at 9:22 am to theantiquetiger
I've already done both.

How do these guys deal with having to take dumps on the way up?
I have used this before for alpine missions and the one time I used a portaledge and slept on the wall

I'd definitely go to base camp. But no further.

You seem rather knowledgeable on this topic. Are you into mountaineering?

I don't think there is much (or any) rock climbing associated with it. I think it's just walking up a big arse, dangerous hill, with a bunch of sketchy passes you must transverse. (I maybe wrong here)

I've been to EBC (Everest Base Camp), October of 2015. It's a great hike and a great experience. Takes a week to get there, that's including 2 days to acclimatize along the way. Elevation gain is around 10,000' (7,500 to 17,600).
For the posters saying practically anyone can summit Everest etc., it looks like your climbing knowledge is limited to watching some documentaries on the History Channel. Anybody who's done some hiking or climbing can just look at the mountain and see that it's no walk in the park.
I highly recommend doing the EBC hike, do it sooner rather than later.
