Do you think no one has tried on stuff you buy at the store? Or even worn it with the tag and returned it?

I picked up some lightly shat pants and they fit great.

It’s insane to me that Goodwill doesn’t wash dry and fold the clothes before they get to the floor.

A couple of the giant commercial machines and one full time laundry doer and you can jack the price $1 and nobody has to worry about getting fleas.

There’s a place we buy from regularly called Plato’s Closet. High end and designer clothes for 80-90% off new prices. Bought some nice Polo shirts, button downs, flannels and fleece pullovers. Like a poster above I draw the line at underwear and shoes. Probably would buy shoes if I found what I like but New Balance quit making them a while back. Don’t know what I’ll do for shoes now.

There’s one in Mobile where I live and one in Birmingham across from the Galleria. They may be everywhere or those may be the only two.

New balance has a reconsidered program. I haven't tried it yet, but all the reviews are great.

They have lightly used shoes that are refurbished and sold at like a 40% discount

I bought a used leather motorcycle jacket once and still have it.
Had it have a few scrapes, it would have had some street cred amongst the cruiser crowd.

Disclaimer: I've only skidded one down just two times.

Absolutely. You can come across some nice shirts, pants, or shorts at Goodwill and other places. Just wash them.

Funny story. I know a guy that is skinny as hell. He goes around and helps whatever companies that needs help…landscape, painting, etc. He has a hard time finding jeans that fits him right and not real baggy so he will go to goodwill and buy womenLevi, Lee, or wrangler straight leg jeans if they have any. He said he has done that for years until he slipped up and mentioned that on a job one day. He said he doesn’t give a shite because they fit him and he has probably spent less than $100 in work jeans over the course of a year.

Every time you eat at a restaurant, you use used dishes and utensils. So used clothes is not any worse.

Not underwear and not shoes/socks, but shirts, shorts and pants are fair game as long as they’re clean and like new. I like finding deals on good quality shirts. I just got a like new Peter Millar shirt and Southern Marsh shirt for $40 after tax/shipping the other day on Poshmark. Both appear barely worn.

I've bought for $9 on Amazon that are far better than some crap I've seen for $30

Help me understand. So you’ve “seen” t-shirts without ever wearing them and by visual inspection of their pictures on a website you can tell their quality compared to your $9 t-shirts is far inferior?

I bought a pair of Doc Martin shoes once at Goodwill for $10,looked like they had never been worn.
I wore them a few times, made the bottom of my feet burn like hell,it was weird.
I took them back and donated them.

Can afford new stuff, and mostly buy new stuff, but I buy both clothing and handbags secondhand online from time to time. I use Fashionphile (bags) and ThredUp (clothes) and filter my search for only "excellent" and "new with tags" level.

I do it for athletic wear that I just can't bring myself to spend $65/shirt on, and I've done it for designer bags that are <$700 for something that retails $3000+.

I go to thrift stores all the time. It is amazing what Goodwill charges.

For sure, unless I have to dig for it then its not worth it. Ive bought mostly shirts or jackets.Hard to find pants or suits that fit well and are in good shape IMO.
