The person selling it to me would have to be a relative or someone I’m really close to. It would also have to be a car that I was very familiar with and I knew that the person selling it was only doing so because they were getting a new car.

I know people will say its not a truck but I drive a 4WD sequoia with 240k and as long as I keep the oil changed every 5k and the timing belt maintained every 100k Im going to drive it till the wheels fall off.

Eh. I dont need my truck interior to look like an Escalade but I at least need a touchscreen to make carplay stuff easier to manage

No, numbers are absurd. I’d go with used and pay less than half that and have some money set aside for long term maintenance. But, I’m old so that is my generations’s point of view. Spend less mon3y now and hold on to some…

Unlikely, but...
Look for a one-owner, well-maintained truck.
Pay more for a good history.

Triple7, I am pretty sure he meant 100k miles on the vehicle. Not spending $100k on a used truck.
oh shite
well in that case, depends on condition of the vehicle, type, reputation, type of miles etc

Yeah, I think on his OB post he stated it a little clearer.

yea, the interior is kind of arse
I’ve started to look for trucks myself (my 2015 F150 is almost at 300k miles) for under 30k without crazy mileage on them, its indeed a search

Keep your truck. Buy a civic.

Modern vehicles will go 300k pretty easy with minimal maintenance. Automatic transmissions are the weak link in all modern cars. Most v8 trucks could get 500k if you are willing to suffer a trans failure or two along the way.
Make sure you ditch the mds/afm bullshite if you want one to live.

Nice rig. You will have that one a long time.

My daily truck (Tundra) currently has 215,000 miles. lol.
Xterra with just a little more. I do try to rent vehicles for long trips, but it's worth it. I am hoping to get another 2-3 years out of the Xterra.

I bought a car with 197,000 miles on it in Jan. 2023.
It has 215,000 now with no issues.
It was all I could afford.

425k here. Not my only vehicle but it’s the one I drive 90% of the time and travel the country regularly.

It has been serving me well ever since i picked it up off a used car lot in 2020 for $6k cash.

Got rid of mine last year with 330ish on it.
Replaced it with a nissan fullsize with 125k miles. Got a smoking deal on it.
Why did I buy used? Because in one year I've put 50k miles on it.
