I am right now. Started when he was 2 1/2 and he is now 14. What ya wanna know?

I am a stepfather. One if the greatest experiences of my life. My stepdaughter is wonderful. Her dad is great, get along well with him too. There are a good many wonderful things I would have missed out on had I not married her mother.

The man who raised me, adopted me at 3, with a life threatening kidney disease. 16 years later, we adopted my cousin who has been raised as my sister. My dad is awesomely unselfish.

If and when I ever get married, absolutely. I plan on having 2 biological kids and then adopting a girl from China. So yeah, I’d absolutely raise another man’s kid to save them. I’ve been in a Chinese orphanage, and I vowed if I have a wife that I’d adopt one of these girls. It’s an almost non-negotiable factor for me getting married.

Which is kind of shitty of me because i’m A single dad with 2 kids. But if I ever get serious with a woman again I don’t want to be dealing with some other dudes spawn and all that drama.
Plus I want more kids so I want all my woman’s resources going to my own offspring.
Not to mention if things go south after you’ve forged a connection with those kids then that’s an even worse pain than losing the woman
ETA: kind of sucks because I love kids and i’m Great with them. But I just don’t think I could deal with even more of a shuffle. Plus they’re never really gonna be mine.
