I get what you are implying, but the next thing to hit us will be hyperinflation and monetary collapse. This country is 30 trillion in debt. It is unsustainable.

No bc the dipshits would think it was Trumps fault instead of their lifetime full of poor decisions.
There are a 1000 better reason as to why the suggestion is dumb.

How about just more Federalism? These States do their thing and these other States do their thing. Not everything is some major national crisis.

Interesting how people who are losing at life are cheering on bad outcomes

The only option is to kick the can down the road until it implodes. I guess Trump could light the match for this to happen.

There’s no way to correct for this except for PAIN.

No one wants this under their presidency and so naturally will do whatever it takes to keep kicking the can, we saw this with Trump crawfishing on his tariffs.

Correct. And the last time I looked, we were adding a trillion plus per year. Every year. LINK
For those interested in real time
We are at 122% debt to GDP ??
That’s only 323,000 each tax payer owes to pay it off.

We live in decadent times, a little reality wouldnt hurt some people. Todays mass consumerism needs some kind of balance and only hardship will slow it.

Well the ones that survive would be the one who are capable of fending for and taking care of themselves.

Unless you have access to wild game and fish, and means to get water, you are toast. Everyone in the city is done unless they can quickly-like VERY quickly escape. And those that have access to wild game and fish will have to kill those coming for it. All the movies about this would become real life.
The other big thing would be knowing how to preserve meat without refrigeration. I doubt .05 % of the population can actually do this. I’m pretty damn handy and I can’t do it. And I’m not talking salt. (Salt is great if you have 100s of lbs of it)
I’m talking about smoking it so it doesn’t spoil.

The “have nots” always want to see the “haves” lose some of what they got so that they don’t feel so far beneath a standard they feel is unachievable.
Their justifications often include complaining about a rigged system falsely propped up to benefit the few.

How about you quit your job and give away a big chunk of your money to create your own personal depression economy. Report back to us how that works for you.

I don't think he's talking about the accumulation of personal wealth and a bunch of "stuff". I think he's speaking more broadly to the character, health and spirit of our Nation. Our ancestors knew how to grow a vegetable garden and prepare healthy meals from scratch. They knew how to turn a wrench and build or fix things. They knew how to find pleasure in the simple things. They had deeper social ties to their community, neighborhood, school and church. They lived by a model of personal and financial responsibility.

We're those virtues enough to outweigh all of the hardships? Probably not but maybe there's a happy middle ground somewhere in between.

Top 1% ends up with 95% of everything. The rest of the world will live in border line poverty under a government that is 100% totalitarian with CBDC dictating what we can hopefully obtain to survive.
