I was going to ask how old his pic was he used because Nashville is booming and has several high rises going up right now.

basically every skyline can look good/bad depending on what photo is posted.
This right here. I understand some can be underwhelming, but a lot of that has to do with urban sprawl, the ‘age’ of the city in terms of its growth, and proximity to airports.

There's probably not a single building less than 70 years old. It's almost an impressive feat, actually.

I knew Detroit was on the rebound. I visited when I was in HS. It’s American ruins basically, along with Cleveland and Buffalo.
One of the first sites I was hooked on as a kid was Detroityes.com. They had virtual tours of the ruins. I’ve always been fascinated by skylines, downtowns, city planning, population figures and patterns, etc. I know, I’m a nerd. But yeah...hopefully the Motor City can rebound a bit in the way Pittsburgh has.

Skyline of Holly Springs, MS . . . sucks as bad as the residents!
Holly Springs is indeed a shithole, but you're being disingenuous with that pic. Although I was in court there last week, and the judge was wearing his overcoat because the heat had been out for 2 weeks.

Downtown San Jose is a joke for a city of it's size. The problem they have is the "downtown"area is on the landing approach path for the San Jose airport. There are FAA building height restrictions.

i see a lot of orlando answers, and even though the buildings aren’t that tall it still looks nice.
can’t think of any worse than some that have already been brought up.
but one of my favorites is seattle. never been but it looks awesome

What reason does downtown San Jose have to be giant? It’s a big city, but many people live there and work elsewhere. I suppose you could say the same about Fort Worth. It’s estimated currently as the 13th largest city in the country.
What about Arlington, TX? Long Beach, CA? These places are large in numbers, but are basically places to live and not necessarily work, at least for the giant corporate structure.

Memphis has ~250k more people (in town) than New Orleans. Yes, it's pretty bad.

Yup. I live in Seattle, and the skyline is amazing regardless of the vantage point. This particular photo minimizes the sheer number of highrises we have, but at the same time capitalizes on the Needle and Mt. Rainier.

For the most part you're right, SJ is a sprawling suburb. San Jose leaders have little brother syndrome with SF and have tried to grow the downtown area for years. There is a lot of tech in SJ but it's not downtown.
Google is attempting to buy up a lot of property and is proposing a downtown campus that will house up to 20,000 employees. If that happens who knows what it will be in 10 years.
