Nerve block wearing off 12 hours too soon after I had wires pulling ligaments in place and anchored in bone.

Took almost a full bottle of pills over 6 hours, it was intense.

Family physician removed an ingrown toenail and hit a nerve. My leg throbbed for 12 hours and I practically cried myself to sleep.

ETA: A friend of a friend does something in the gulf re: welding and has to come to surface slowly for decompression. As you can tell, I don’t know shite about it. The guy smushed his hand requiring several surgeries, but first had to suck it up for a day or so while they safely got him out.

I destroyed my ankle, broke my nose, and dislocated my finger in high school football, but the worst pain is by far kidney stones. That crap is unbearable.

Got my attention, I was 17.

Mine was misdiagnosed. I spent a week in the hospital on antibiotics and was sent home. A week later I got 10x worse and they had to do exploratory surgery.

Borderline 2nd- 3rd degree burns on 75% of my body.

Good news was no permanent nerve damage for the most part, bad news is no permanent nerve damage. The pain was excruciating

Long story short....

I'm 12 and up on the roof of our house....

I bet I have your attention

My deceased brother, who was 2.5 years younger, was being an idiot.

I wasn't in his view, or anywhere close. He barely pulls on my dad's bow and the arrow went way right. I turned my head at the last second and blood instantly poured out. He was not on the roof.

Somehow stayed calm and climbed down the ladder.

We got the bleeding stopped and covered it with duct tape.

Like idiots we tried to hide it from my mom. She shows up from work an hour later and notices I'm ghostly white and takes me to the ER.

Having a few liters of fluid (blood) drained from my chest cavity via a needle inserted into my back between my ribs. As an added bonus my ribs were still healing from open heart surgery and this procedure causes uncontrollable coughing as a result of the lungs being able to expand once the fluid is removed. The pain was indescribable.

Probably when I broke my ankle. The break itself wasn’t so bad. I wasn’t even sure if it was broke or sprained right away. But man, woke in up the middle of the next night in excruciating pain that made me throw up. Only time that ever happened to me. It was broken and sprained and I honestly think it was the sprain that was causing the severe pain. The next few days were absolute misery.

Fell quite a ways and shattered my wrist and had a bone sticking out of my arm. It hurt pretty bad, but wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
