Willet was a very polarizing, people either seem to love it or absolutely hate it

I find this to be the case for almost all expensive items. It’s more about telling everyone what you paid for it than the actual value you received. Vanity runs the world more than necessity ever will

Willet Rye went to New York

Thought bourbon had to be aged at least 7 years?

Bet it won't be that price for much longer.

As long as Old Forrester 100pr is, I’m good with that…

No real specific rules on aging bourbon. To call it a specific type might have some age requirements though

For instance, bottled-in-bond has a 4 year requirement

Just proof that you have to be an alcoholic to enjoy whiskey straight.

You sure?

One of the kids closer to my age played for the Bear at Alabama. How old is the person you are thinking about? Based on where their product went historically it makes sense, but don't remember any Tigers in the group, male or female.

Bebe takes issue with this statement. I drink it straight. Just not a large amount and I'm definitely not close to an alcoholic.

If it’s aged less than 4 years the age has to be stated but there is no minimum requirement at least as far as I know. I think it has to be aged at least 2 years to be called “straight bourbon whiskey”. I’ll take Very Old Barton 100 proof over Old Bardstown every time and it’s under $20

Another anecdotal test that Covid has hurt taste and smell sensory long term.

I swear my sense of smell and taste have a lower spectrum then I had pre covid.

Neat

If you must add ice, I suggest Highbridge water (not in a plastic bottle if you can avoid it) as that is spring water sourced close to where much of KY bourbon is actually made. Folks who use tap water to make their ice, dings the taste from the start.
