re: Work trips with the opposite sex

I started my professional career in Louisiana and this behavior was more common. Multiple times I had women who were leading a project show up with completely unrelated (to the project) co-workers to have more than 2 people at lunch / dinner / coffee. I moved to Texas and haven’t seen it since.

Break the ice by telling her not to take anything personal- but you're a cuddler.

If a spouse wants to be unfaithful than they will be and they don't need a business trip alone with someone of the opposite sex to do it. Guys that are insecure like this tend to get cheated on the most. When a couple gets married they are supposed to set boundaries. The 2 lines my wife has for me that would result in divorce is infidelity and physical abuse which I have never done nor would ever do. My line is infidelity which she has never given me any suspicion that she has been unfaithful. My wife has a seminar she has to attend in 2 weeks on a Thursday and Friday. It is mostly women ,but there are 2 men going. If my wife does frick around and I find out than I will hire an attorney and will go through a divorce as she would if I did that to her. Again if a spouse wants to frick around they will do it.

I actually think she does, and the feeling is mutual. But we’re both too scared to make the first move and jeopardize both of our careers. We’ve kept it professional/platonic for 9 years now, but who knows what will happen when one of us retires.

Agreed. So stupid. I travelled for probably 15 years with a guy who I was great friends with. We could practically finish each other's sentences. Joke around a little, hang out in the bar...but there was never any chance either of us was thinking of stepping out, because we loved our spouses and valued our marriages.
