When you're skeptical or suspicious of something, you're leery of it, not weary of it.

"Hone in on" instead of the correct "Home in on" Hone means to sharpen as in honing a knive or honing your skills. Even intelligent folks get this wrong and it drives me nuts. I'm guessing at some point (if not already), hone in on will be deemed correct for any/all uses.

Intellectual laziness!

i think some people also don't know the difference between weary and wary...

i've seen a number of people here use "unkept" because they don't know the word "unkempt" is what they should be using...for some reason, this irks me

i don't like the fact that so many incorrect usages are being accepted now simply because so many people have limited vocabularies and don't know how to speak/write correctly and effectively...

Also, an actor hopes to land a role. A gymnast hopes to land a roll.

Unless you're talking about Olympian Kurt Thomas, then those 2 become interchangeable.

Honing doesn't necessarily mean sharpen. It's perfecting the surface finish.

But is this really wrong? At some point the water is “hot “ yet the device continues to heat the water to some higher predetermined temperature. I’m not convinced that the term is incorrect.
