Wooden fence installation

I need a wood fence demo'd and a new one installed.
I would like the new fence placed exactly where the old fence was.
It is about 200' of fence total.
Any recommendations?

Tear the other one down and dig some new holes. Set posts and get busy.

Don't use prefabbed fence panels. Bite the bullet and use good outdoor screws instead of nails. It'll last much longer.
Get you and a few baws one weekend, fill the cooler with beer and put a boston butt on the smoker and have fun with it. Pull strings and set all your posts first, use quick set concrete and by the time you get the posts in you can turn around and start running your 2x4's.

I just finished 100' of mine. Get a post hole digger (or an auger if you aren't beta), set the posts, string your lines and off you go.
Not nearly as hard to do as one would think. Just make sure you set those posts deep enough; otherwise, you'll be re-doing your fence in a year or two.

I used one 40# bag of sackrete per post.

I usually make a 40 lb. bag go farther by using some of the dug soil in the bottom after setting the post . Tap it down firmly so that post is set then top it with secrete . Works for me .....

What cost are you looking at for materials if you do it right, per yard?

My dad and his friends pretty much fenced our neighborhood with this method when I was a kid.
Call 811 too. Even if you are building over the old fence. You could still hit something.

Did a 75' straight run myself. Cost was $800 for everything. Auger, concrete, screws & nails, posts and wood. Started at 8am and finished around 3. Lowes sells premade 9' sections of pine if your beta.

If you're on the Northshore and have an email you don't mind posting here, I have a friend down there who is really good.

This. I installed a 150+ ft fence around my backyard over the span of three weeks. Would come home after work and dig two or three holes and call it a day. Saved a small fortune.
