Most "soul food", I do not call soul food. It is just food. I grew up eating Cajun and country food. Most soul food is in one of those categories.

I’ve never understood how watermelon, ribs, collard greens, pork chops, fried chicken and grape soda are looked at as racial stereotypes. If you grew up like I did these foods are what we had and was damn happy to have them.

Seems whatever percentage of the 14% in the U.S. that didn’t evolve along with a good amount of white trash make life dangerous & expensive for normal folks

Not a single one of my black friends even gives a shite about it. We even advocated removing it from a paid holiday to get day after Thanksgiving off at a start up we both were at.

And how does a holiday like a generation old have foods “traditionally” eaten
