Noooo all I’m saying is be kind enough to ask her opinion. She will have to wear this the rest of her married life.

Got my wife a cheap ring from Zales when we got married because we were poor. Took me 4 years to pay off $1000 balance on the Zales card
A few years ago I got her a really really nice ring to replace it but I know it doesn’t mean as much to her as the original.

I agree. That shouldn’t matter and you shouldn’t have to go bankrupt to purchase a ring for someone who loves you.

I think you’re reading way too into this. My husband could have picked any ring and I would have worn it with love. He wanted me to have a ring I loved, so we shopped together. We are old. There was no need for a big surprise. We didn’t shop together because I am a picky materialistic bitch who would’ve turned him down if I didn’t get my dream ring. It’s a piece of jewelry.

My original wedding ring from 27 years ago was made into a ring from his mother’s diamond cluster pendant as this is what was affordable.
Several years later, my great aunt passed away and I received her wedding ring set —- I now wear that with my husband and his mother’s blessing.
I pray that when it’s my daughter getting engaged that she won’t be one of those picky, demanding, ungrateful, high expectation girls. That is not what it’s about and she has been well taught in this regard.
ETA: inquiring about cut, style would be nice and maybe shopping/looking with her but it’s not worth a guy going broke over. And I’m too practical to go with the “guidelines” for spending an amount on a ring.

Women be all like, "There's one carat stones and above, and then there's everything else."

Every ring made is good enough for someone else

She eats out of depression because you dress like a slob and she has to look down as a ring she really doesn’t like because Michael Kors didn’t know shite about fashion.

They haven’t dropped yet so when I saw he had bitch tits, I figure they just migrated upwards.

Whenever I get married I’ll just do what I do when I need to find a gift for my gf....ask my mom what I should get
She is good at knowing those things

She loved it so much that she kept the ring and got rid of the ring giver.

When my cousin's husband proposed, they were totally broke and couldn't afford a real ring. So he got down on his knees, proposed, and after she said "yes" he looped a piece of string around her finger, tied it off neatly, and told her he'd get her a real ring when they could afford it.
They eventually did get a traditional ring and twenty years and three kids later they're still together. But she keeps that worn piece of string in a safe place because it's the real ring to her.

I knew what my wife wanted and had it specially designed. It was a Trillion cut with some other bells and whistles. Now she has matching earrings, tennis bracelet, pendant necklace, etc.
And I still dress myself everyday
