We’ve been informed that it’s not actually a receipt, but a kitchen order that wasn’t supposed to go to the customer, even though it was called a receipt multiple times in the article.

There has to be more to this. That's NOT a receipt. It's an order ticket that goes to the back of house. Someone ratted the order taker out. I had an employee once put "tall white guy with bad attitude" on an order ticket. He got it because what's supposed to be the guest's name shows up on the receipt too. He laughed about it and apologized for his attitude. true story
