You couldn’t take a shite outside each day all year today for under 90k after taxes.

Wow. $65k huh? Even at minimum wage, that doesn't seem like "quit your job" money.

I mean, it depends on what her job was. I doubt she was part of the braintrust at Goldman Sachs or anything.

That's what I guessed after I thought about it. Hopefully that's what it is.

It won’t last long now that auntie and ‘em know about it. They’ll be lined up with their hands out. Happens every single time

I mean, if she really hated her job, I could see it, if she had plans to find another. Anyone who’s worked at a job they hated sees that as an option.

Not jumping to any conclusion or anything but anybody who buys $25 worth of lottery scratch off tickets probably will be broke by next weekend. If nothing else she in now hooked on the winnings. Not a good prognosis for her IMO.

Toliver ended up receiving a check for $64,800 on March 4.
She told lottery officials that she had been wanting to quit her job and winning the lottery allowed her to do that.

This is why people who win the lottery go broke. They have no sense of money. Receiving $64,800 while working is a nice chunk to get ahead financially. Pay off some debts, if you have a car loan pay that off and don't buy a new car, drive the one you have that you no longer have to pay a note on for as long as possible. Lets say after paying off a few things there is $30k left. Put it into a ROTH or something you can access it if you need it, but now without a car note, put in half of what your car loan was into where you put the $30k.

But she will quit her job, probably go buy a brand new vehicle, go on a few vacations and then come home and realize she still has to pay for shite and that the little bit she has left isn't going to last more than 2 months.

People believe this shite.

Meanwhile I pull a mangler kid out a car a few weeks back. Guess God was busy with Rashanda and her shitty job situation.

She’ll go buy more lottery scratch offs knowing she will keep winning. That’s the problem. The lottery and gambling in general is the worst vice there is and as bad as illegal drugs. The societal cost and misery caused by gambling is hard to comprehend. The media instead of educating the unknowing celebrates this story as somehow good. It’s obscene on many levels.

Or allows her to wait for the right job offer. She may have been miserable at a job paying $60k/yr but not had the time to loon elsewhere. Not everybody that does this is a GED burger flipper. The fact that she bought FIVE $5 tickets tells me the first scenario is far more likely. We live comfortably and my wife will buy a $10 scracher just for shits and giggles. (I gamble my money on football blasters.)

I was thinking maybe she had a shitty/low paying job that she really hated and now has the cash to take a little break and find something she likes better.

You just know that's not what's happening though
